Mårten Nordheim b2ff0c2dc2 UDP: don't disable read notification unless we have a datagram
The current logic that we will disable the read notification if we
have any data at all doesn't make sense for users who use the
receiveDatagram functionality, since they will not make any calls
that trigger the read notifier to be re-enabled unless there is a
datagram ready for us to hand back.

Straightforward ports where the container could be made const.

Use C arrays instead of QList if the data is known at compile time.

Ahmad Samir bca2805b34 QtNetwork auto tests: port Q_FOREACH to ranged-for [2]
The containers are created locally in the top level test functions, they
can't be made const due to the way they are filled, however the loop
body don't change them; even if the code in a loop would cause
re-entrance du due to signal emittance or events processing, those
containers aren't affected and aren't changed during iteration because
the top-level test functions themselves aren't re-entered, hence
use std::as_const.

Drive-by change: take QHostAddress by const& when it's used as a
for-loop variable (it has a QExplicitlySharedDataPointer d-pointer).

Marc Mutz 11d6932560 Mark all of Qt as free of Q_FOREACH, except where it isn't
The density of Q_FOREACH uses in this and some other modules is still
extremely high, too high for anyone to tackle in a short amount of
time. Even if they're not concentrated in just a few TUs, we need to
make progress on a global QT_NO_FOREACH default, so grab the nettle
and stick to our strategy:

Mark the whole of Qt with QT_NO_FOREACH, to prevent new uses from
creeping in, and whitelist the affected TUs by #undef'ing
QT_NO_FOREACH locally, at the top of each file. For TUs that are part
of a larger executable, this requires these files to be compiled
separately, so add them to NO_PCH_SOURCES (which implies
NO_UNITY_BUILD_SOURCES, too).

In tst_qglobal.cpp and tst_qcollections.cpp change the comment on the
#undef QT_NO_FOREACH to indicate that these actually test the macro.

Marc Mutz 1c6bf3e09e Port from container::count() and length() to size() - V5
This is a semantic patch using ClangTidyTransformator as in
qtbase/df9d882d41b741fef7c5beeddb0abe9d904443d8, but extended to
handle typedefs and accesses through pointers, too:

    const std::string o = "object";

    auto hasTypeIgnoringPointer = [](auto type) { return anyOf(hasType(type), hasType(pointsTo(type))); };

    auto derivedFromAnyOfClasses = [&](ArrayRef<StringRef> classes) {
        auto exprOfDeclaredType = [&](auto decl) {
            return expr(hasTypeIgnoringPointer(hasUnqualifiedDesugaredType(recordType(hasDeclaration(decl))))).bind(o);
        };
        return exprOfDeclaredType(cxxRecordDecl(isSameOrDerivedFrom(hasAnyName(classes))));
    };

    auto renameMethod = [&] (ArrayRef<StringRef> classes,
                            StringRef from, StringRef to) {
        return makeRule(cxxMemberCallExpr(on(derivedFromAnyOfClasses(classes)),
                            callee(cxxMethodDecl(hasName(from), parameterCountIs(0)))),
                        changeTo(cat(access(o, cat(to)), "()")),
                        cat("use '", to, "' instead of '", from, "'"));
    };

    renameMethod(<classes>, "count", "size");
    renameMethod(<classes>, "length", "size");

except that the on() matcher has been replaced by one that doesn't
ignoreParens().

We've been requiring C++17 since Qt 6.0, and our qAsConst use finally
starts to bother us (QTBUG-99313), so time to port away from it
now.

Since qAsConst has exactly the same semantics as std::as_const (down
to rvalue treatment, constexpr'ness and noexcept'ness), there's really
nothing more to it than a global search-and-replace, with manual
unstaging of the actual definition and documentation in dist/,
src/corelib/doc/ and src/corelib/global/.

Previously, it went direct to QTestResults::addFailure() without going
via the checking for expected failure. Add QTestResults::fail() to
take care of this checking, as for verify() and compare().

Tidied up the code implementing expected failure and QFAIL(), while I
was about it. Adjusted an existing test to verify that expecting a
QFAIL() works, by using QFAIL() instead of QVERIFY(false).

Remove the QVERIFY(false) whose comment brought this to my attention.

[ChangeLog][QtTestLib][QFAIL] QEXPECT_FAIL() now correctly anticipates
a subsequent QFAIL(). Previously QFAIL() counted as a fail regardless.

Volker Hilsheimer ee92ee7a3c Remove deprecated QProcess methods
Add default parameter for arguments in start, startDetached, and
execute for better source compatibility with Qt 5.15. This has the risk
of then hiding incorrect calls to the previous overload taking a single
"command" strings if code is ported from pre-5.15 or ignores deprecation
warnings. This is acceptable, given that the alternative is that all
calls to these functions would require a default constructed QStringList
as the second parameter.

Timur Pocheptsov c668fd940d Fix 'out of process' autotests
We are, arguably, not testing QProcess and its ability to start or finish,
we test QUdpSocket. If, for some reason (as we discovered on some
specific machines recently) the process does not start or does not produce
any output (canReadLine), we QSKIP instead of failing. Also, all those
QCOMPARE will bypass the part there we stop processes - so must be
RAII-protected.

Alexander Akulich 6d18e4a2b8 Revert "QAbstractSocket: deprecate 'error' member-function"
This reverts commit 94b3dd77f2.

The patch fixes ambiguity between a getter and a signal by changing the
getter name, but we still have to rename the signal to follow the signals
naming convention.

Revert the commit to keep the getter as is and change the signal name instead.
