Gabriel de Dietrich c35795b413 QFontEngine: Add handle() function
Both QFont::handle() and QFont::freetypeFace() used to
be available in Qt 4 but were removed in Qt 5. There's
currently no API to get access to the native font handle,
which the font engine holds in a way or another.

Similar to the way it was in Qt 4, the actual handle type
depends on the font engine currently in use. The types map
as follows:

     Font Engine Native Handle
    ------------------------------------
     DirectWrite IDWriteFontFace *
     Freetype FT_Face
     Mac CTFontRef
     Win HFONT

All other font engines return a null handle.

Tor Arne Vestbø 35793cea28 CoreText: Respect Qt::AA_Use96Dpi flag when creating CT fonts
The pixel size passed into QCoreTextFontDatabase::fontEngine() has already
been scaled to take the destination DPI into account. In the normal case
the destination DPI is the same as the screen's logical DPI, 72, and we
end up with the pixel size being equal to the point size. But when the
Qt::AA_Use96Dpi flag has been set, e.g. when running tests, the pixel
size is larger than the point size, and we need to pass this information
to CoreText, otherwise we end up with clipped text rendering. This was
evident when looking at the lancelot baselines for OS X, which are
produced using QTestLib, and hence run with Qt::AA_Use96Dpi set.

Tor Arne Vestbø 54dbdc26ba Move min left/right bearing calculations to QFontEngine baseclass
The logic used in the FreeType font engine can be generalized
and move to the QFontEngine baseclass. This allows the CoreText
font engine to correctly report the minimum left/right bearings,
which decreases the chance that an optimization in QTextLayout's
line breaking algorithm will produce wrong results.

The calculation of left and right bearing has been moved to the
glyph_metrics_t type to reduce code duplication. This allows us
to use the with and height of the bounding box to determine if
the glyph has any contours.

Eskil Abrahamsen Blomfeldt c29c6d9003 OS X: Fix mixing writing systems, ligatures and text formatting
In QFontEngineMulti::stringToCMap() we call the primary engine's
implementation of the same function. If this engine does not support
the character in question, then it's supposed to clear the glyph array,
otherwise there may be left-over junk in the glyph array from previous
script items and the font selection algorithm will think it has already
found a match for the character corresponding to the glyph position.
The freetype engine, for instance, clears the respective entries
in the array when it gets a 0 glyph from the font engine.

In particular, this would happen when you had a ligature preceding
an item that was shaped separately. The ligature (e.g. "fi") would
set the first two slots of the glyph array, but later replace
them with a single glyph. The next item would then get an offset
of 1, i.e. pointing to the position in the glyph array where the
glyph for i was originally contained. If this was not cleared,
it would assume the primary engine supported the character. If
the character was of an unsupported writing system, then you would
get a box in place of it instead.

[ChangeLog][OS X][Text] Fixed appending text with a different
writing system and formatting to a latin ligature.

Eskil Abrahamsen Blomfeldt 586fd04234 OS X/iOS: Fix stretched font rendering
Setting the stretch of a QFont did not work correctly on OS X or
iOS.

Two things are needed to make it work: First of all, we need to
properly set the transform when creating the CTFont.

In addition, we need to manually scale the advances, as
CTRunGetPositions() does not do this for us. On OS X 10.6, however,
there was a regression and CTRunGetPositions() would return scaled
positions, so we exclude the step to scale the advances on this
particular version.

This is an adaptation of bc25cfdd65452efa226cbd544c9ae9803eb6748a
in Qt 4.

[ChangeLog][QtGui][OS X/iOS] Fixed a bug when rendering fonts that

Marc Mutz 1a5c0b26d0 Don't use QStringLiteral in comparisons
For QLatin1String, operator== is overloaded, so comparing to a latin-1
(C) string literal is efficient, since strlen() is comparatively fast.

OTOH, QStringLiteral, when not using RVO, litters the code with
QString dtor calls, which are not inline. Worse, absent lambdas,
it even allocates memory.

So, just compare using QLatin1String instead.

Eskil Abrahamsen Blomfeldt a614bc6e39 Cocoa: Always add Arial Unicode MS to fallback list
The fallbacks on the platform should ideally contain all fonts that
support the script passed in, but this would require populating the
font database and checking the unicode ranges for all fonts, so it
would cause a significant performance hit on Mac. What we do here
instead is just return a set of default fonts as the fallbacks
and disregard the requested script.

The consequence of this is that some special unicode codepoints were
not supported on Mac, because we weren't working with a full fallback
list.

To rectify this without breaking performance, we always add Arial
Unicode MS to the end of the fallback list as a final fallback.
This should always be present on the system and has a wide support
of different scripts.

[ChangeLog][OS X][Fonts] Fixed missing glyph box shown in place of some
uncommon Unicode code points.

Allan Sandfeld Jensen d84a6eab51 Add Grayscale8 and Alpha8 formats to QImage and drawing
Extend the QImage format with two 8-bit grayscale and alpha formats.
These formats have the advantage over Indexed8 that they have simpler
conversion and can be rendered to by the raster engine.

[ChangeLog][QtGui][QImage] Added support grayscale and alpha 8-bit
formats which can also be rendered to.

Eskil Abrahamsen Blomfeldt 8610534f53 OSX: Properly detect language support in fonts
The language support detection in Cocoa does not report the correct
set of languages for all fonts. One consequence of this is that e.g.
Mkhedruli (Georgian) was not supported on Mac because the
'ka' language code was not reported for e.g. the Arial Unicode MS
font.

This was never detected in Qt 4, because the writing system support
we set for each font was never used for font matching, since we let
CoreText do the matching in Qt 4.

To remedy this, we also detect writing system support based on the OS/2
table in the font. We add this in addition to the current test in case
the language list has information about fonts with incomplete OS/2 tables,
to avoid regressing.

[ChangeLog][OS X] Fixed detection of writing system support in fonts for
some scripts such as Mkhedruli.
