The previous constraint called for the value_type of the container to
exactly match the value_type of the tokenizer, which means
toContainer() could only ever work on containers of views. But there
is value in allowing QStringList, even though it works only on QL1S
needles (QStringView -> QString isn't implicit). But users may have
other types that for better or worse implicitly convert from views, so
we shouldn't over-constrain the function.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QStringTokenizer] toContainer() now works on
containers whose value_type can be constructed from the tokenizer's
value_type. It no longer requires an exact match.

In a recent improvement (6de36918c0) the
last set clip region or path was stored in separate variables, in
order to be set again if the aliasing mode changed. That solution was
too simplistic, as it would break down as soon as more than one clip
area was set, with the latter either replacing or intersecting the
first. It was also unnecessary to introduce new storing of clip areas
and transforms, as those are already recorded in the clipInfo stack in
the painter state. This patch hence reverts much of that implementation.
However the basic idea of setting the clip area again after AA change
is good, so that part is kept, implementated instead by calling a
pre-existing function to replay the clipInfo stack.
One of the baseline test cases is extended to excercise the
combination of clip areas. As a driveby, support for setClipRectF is
added to the painting baseline test scripts, and the build of the
manual lance tool is fixed.

Amends a74cdf778c, after which the
initialization of items in invisible rows is skipped. Since data members
in QFormLayoutItem were lazily initialized, this resulted in out-of-bounds
access of QList entries.
Use member initialization for all QFormLayoutItem fields, and check that
vLayoutIndex is valid before using it to access the list entry. Skip
labels and fields for which it is not initialized.
Add test case. As a drive-by, silence the test's provoked warning
messages via ignoreMessage.

QStrings (e.g. QStringLiteral).
However, QString and QAnyStringView cannot be overloaded (they're
ambiguous for most arguments), so we need to make one of them a
Q_WEAK_OVERLOAD.
Normally, we'd make the new function weak and keep the old function
as-is, but, here, that would be beside the point, because all callers
would continue to resolve to the QString overload, and nothing would
call the QAnyStringView one.
So we really want the old function to be the Q_WEAK_OVERLOAD, so that
the QString overload is only selected when actual QStrings are
passed. That means we need to leave the old function in a compat build
(compiled in, but not visible in the public header). Since
Q_WEAK_OVERLOADs cannot be (easily) exported (they're templates), make
it call a private function (which can be, and is, exported).
Reviewers may questions whether one can overload
setObjectName() and
template <typename = void> setObjectName()
The answer is that we can, because templates mangle differently from
normal functions. We can even call the template function (with
explicit template arguments), as seen in removed_api.cpp.
This adapts the interface of the function to how most users use it:
They pass QLatin1String or just const char[]. Only very few passed
QStringLiteral, which, ignoring that fact that it produces a ton of
code for the temporary QString's destructor that's never executed,
would have been, and continues to be, the optimal way of passing data,
modulo plugin bugs (QTBUG-51602, QTBUG-49061).

C++20 deprecated arithmetic on enum types. For enums used on QFlags<>,
these operators have always been user-defined, but when the two enums
are of different type, such as QFrame::Shape and QFrame::Shadow, the
deprecation warning pops up.
We have in the past fixed these in our headers by manual casts, but
that doesn't help our users when our API requires them to OR together
enums of different type.
Until we can rework these APIs to use a variadic QFlags type, we need
to fix it in an SC and BC way, which is what this patch sets out to
do.
The idea is simply to mark pairs of enums that are designed to be ORed
together and replace the deprecated built-in bitwise operators with
user-defined ones in C++20. To ensure SC and BC, we pass an explicit
result type and use that to check, in C++17 builds, that it matches
the decltype of the result of the built-in operator.
This patch is the first in a series of similar patches. It introduces
said markup macro and applies it to all enum pairs that create
warnings on (my) Linux GCC 11.3 and Clang 10.0.0 builds. It is
expected that more such markups are needed, for other modules, and for
symmetry.
Even with this patch, there is one mixed-enum warning left, in
qxcbwindow.cpp. This appears to be a genuine bug (cf. QTBUG-101306),
so this patch doesn't mark the enums involved in it as designed to be
used together.
This patch also unearthed that QT_TYPESAFE_FLAGS, possibly
unsurprisingly so, breaks several mixed bitwise flags-enum operations
(QTBUG-101344).

C++17 inline variables allow us to declare a variable that shall be
merged before linking, which replaces the need for the "comdat" part of
the inline assembly. The GCC attribute "used" tells the compiler not to
discard this variable, like the MinGW case. Additionally, the "retain"
attribute (where supported) tells both the compiler and linker not to
discard, allowing an intermediary, static library to keep this
definition.
This enables support for OSes besides FreeBSD and Linux, where it was
previously available. For example, on macOS:

The notable changes here are that there is a symbol and that the section
is writable. The latter is required because we store the pointer to the
qt_version_tag variable instead of just an offset in the GOT. The total
number of relocations in the resulting binary remains the same. We've
actually shrunk the binary by one pointer size.

Previously the blacklisting file format only worked with slot:data or
plain slot names for the items to blacklist. However, tests with
global data report themselves with the global data-row tag in the same
way as function-specific ones do; and tests which have both join the
two as slot(global:data) in the test output name, so the reader is apt
to mistake global:data for a data tag. In any case, it is potentially
desirable to be able to blacklist a function with either or both of
global and local data-row tags specified. Add support for that and
remove a blacklisting that was only needed due to the lack of this
support.
For now, make the new parameter to checkBlackLists() optional, so
that qtdeclarative's qmltest framework can adapt to this change.

By simply forwarding two QByteArray values (as views, since that
suffices) we can retain knowledge of their sizes and thus avoid the
need to null-terminate in order to forward to a hand-rolled strchr()
that depended on that. Using QBAV::contains() turns out to be quite
expensive, so use memchr() to implement a more efficient check.
In the process, turn a pointlessly repeated check into an assertion.

QBA::toPercentEncoding() duplicated a condition to decide whether it
should include a percent-replacement character in its always-encode
list (which might allocate memory), where simply pretesting each
character against the percent achieves the same effect more cheaply.

When a percent-replacement present in the exclude list would,
normally, not have been encoded, it was encoded regardless, as
otherwise round-tripping fails. However, when percent or its
replacement would normally have been encoded, its presence in the
exclude list lead to it not being encoded, which duly breaks
round-tripping. It also violates
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc3986#section-2.4
[ChangeLog][Incompatible behavior change][QByteArray] When
converting to percent-encoding, it was possible to exclude the percent
character (or its replacement, unless this is one of the characters
not normally encoded) from conversion. Doing so would violate RFC
3986 Section 2.4 and break round-tripping of any string that contains
the percent character. The percent character, or its replacement, is
now always encoded, even if mentioned in the exclude list, as the
documentation has always claimed.

SDK headers that shipped with older versions of MinGW didn't declare
the IFileOperation COM interface, so the original implementation of
moveToTrash included an inferior fallback that used the Shell APIs.

QPlatformTextureList holds a QRhiTexture instead of GLuint. A
QPlatformBackingStore now optionally can own a QRhi and a
QRhiSwapChain for the associated window. Non-GL rendering must use
this QRhi everywhere, whereas GL (QOpenGLWidget) can choose to still
rely on resource sharing between contexts. A widget tells that it
wants QRhi and the desired configuration in a new virtual function in
QWidgetPrivate returning a QPlatformBackingStoreRhiConfig. This is
evaluated (among a top-level's all children) upon create() before
creating the repaint manager and the QWidgetWindow.
In QOpenGLWidget what do request is obvious: it will request an
OpenGL-based QRhi. QQuickWidget (or a potential future QRhiWidget)
will be more interesting: it needs to honor the standard Qt Quick
env.vars. and QQuickWindow APIs (or, in whatever way the user
configured the QRhiWidget), and so will set up the config struct
accordingly.
In addition, the rhiconfig and surface type is (re)evaluated when
(re)parenting a widget to a new tlw. If needed, this will now trigger
a destroy - create on the tlw. This should be be safe to do in
setParent. When multiple child widgets report an enabled rhiconfig,
the first one (the first child encountered) wins. So e.g. attempting
to have a QOpenGLWidget and a Vulkan-based QQuickWidget in the same
top-level window will fail one of the widgets (it likely won't
render).
RasterGLSurface is no longer used by widgets. Rather, the appropriate
surface type is chosen.
The rhi support in the backingstore is usable without widgets as well.
To make rhiFlush() functional, one needs to call setRhiConfig() after
creating the QBackingStore. (like QWidget does to top-level windows)
Most of the QT_NO_OPENGL ifdefs are eliminated all over the place.
Everything with QRhi is unconditional code at compile time, except the
actual initialization.
Having to plumb the widget tlw's shareContext (or, now, the QRhi)
through QWindowPrivate is no longer needed. The old approach does not
scale: to implement composeAndFlush (now rhiFlush) we need more than
just a QRhi object, and this way we no longer pollute everything
starting from the widget level (QWidget's topextra -> QWidgetWindow ->
QWindowPrivate) just to send data around.
The BackingStoreOpenGLSupport interface and the QtGui - QtOpenGL split
is all gone. Instead, there is a QBackingStoreDefaultCompositor in
QtGui which is what the default implementations of composeAndFlush and
toTexture call. (overriding composeAndFlush and co. f.ex. in eglfs
should continue working mostly as-is, apart from adapting to the
texture list changes and getting the native OpenGL texture id out of
the QRhiTexture)
As QQuickWidget is way too complicated to just port as-is, an rhi
manual test (rhiwidget) is introduced as a first step, in ordewr to
exercise a simple, custom render-to-texture widget that does something
using a (not necessarily OpenGL-backed) QRhi and acts as fully
functional QWidget (modeled after QOpenGLWidget). This can also form
the foundation of a potential future QRhiWidget.
It is also possible to force the QRhi-based flushing always,
regardless of the presence of render-to-texture widgets. To exercise
this, set the env.var. QT_WIDGETS_RHI=1. This picks a
platform-specific default, and can be overridden with
QT_WIDGETS_RHI_BACKEND. (in sync with Qt Quick) This can eventually be
extended to query the platform plugin as well to check if the platform
plugin prefers to always do flushes with a 3D API.
QOpenGLWidget should work like before from the user's perspective, while
internally it has to do some things differently to play nice and prevent
regressions with the new rendering architecture. To exercise this
better, the qopenglwidget example gets a new tab-based view (that could
perhaps replace the example's main window later on?). The openglwidget
manual test is made compatible with Qt 6, and gets a counterpart in form
of the dockedopenglwidget manual test, which is a modified version of
the cube example that features dock widgets. This is relevant in
particular because render-to-texture widgets within a QDockWidget has
its own specific quirks, with logic taking this into account, hence
testing is essential.
For existing applications there are two important consequences with
this patch in place:
- Once the rhi-based composition is enabled, it stays active for the
lifetime of the top-level window.
- Dynamically creating and parenting the first render-to-texture
widget to an already created tlw will destroy and recreate the tlw
(and the underlying window). The visible effects of this depend on the
platform. (e.g. the window may disappear and reappear on some,
whereas with other windowing systems it is not noticeable at all -
this is not really different from similar situtions with reparenting
or when moving windows between screens, so should be acceptable in
practice)
- On iOS raster windows are flushed with Metal (and rhi) from now on
(previously this was through OpenGL by making flush() call
composeAndFlush().

RFC2397 doesn't explicitly mention it, but references RFC2045, which,
in Section 2, states:

and goes on, in 6.1:

So regardless of whether "base64" is a parameter name, or a mechanism,
we need to treat it case-insensitively.
Use QLatin1String::endsWith() instead of QByteArray::endsWith(),
because the former takes Qt::CaseInsensitive while the latter would
need a toLower().
Add a test.
As a drive-by, use the same trick for the existing case-insensitive
comparison with "charset".
As a further drive-by, fix inappropriate uses of QLatin1String (=
where they don't prevent allocations).
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QUrl] Now recognizes the ";base64" marker in
"data:" URLs case-insensitively.

Use qOffsetStringArray() instead of an array of pairs of pointers.
This unearthed a problem with SIGNAL and SLOT calling qFlagLocation()
(meaning in debug mode, the array was runtime-initialized, not just
relocated), which we work around by using the new QT_STRINGIFY_
{SIGNAL,SLOT} macros now.
Saves 24 relocations, but, interestingly, saves only 4b in text size
on GCC 11.2 Linux AMD64 -O2 C++20 builds (TEXT and DATA combined)
while saving 760b on the equivalent Clang 10 libc++ build (expected,
in both cases: 24 * (sizeof(void*) - sizeof(quint16))):

Factor common code into a separate macro to DRY.
The immediate paractical consequence is that we now have a way to
reliably get a const char[] from the SIGNAL or SLOT macros, e.g. for
storing in a QOffsetStringArray, without causing compile errors in
debug mode or running the danger of causing runtime initialization via
qFlagLocation, which is of limited value in this circumstance, anyway,
because qFlagLocation only stores the last two strings.

When a QDockWidget's dock areas are restricted by setAllowedAreas(...)
and a second QDockWidget is hovered over it, the first QDockWidget can
be docked to any dock area of the main window. Area restrictions will
be ignored.
That is due to the first QDockWidget being implicitely mutated into a
QDockWidgetGroupWindow upon hovering. By definition, the latter has no
docking restricitons.
This fix adds a check if a QDockWidgetGroupWindow has a single QDockWidget child.
In that case, the single child's area permissions will restrict docking.

The -mno-direct-extern-access tells the compiler and linker that
references to symbols outside this ELF module mustn't be direct and must
instead always go through the GOT or PLT (the PLT can additionally be
disabled with -fno-plt). The ELF protected visibility tells the compiler
and linker that this symbol is present in the dynamic symbol table as an
export, but it cannot be interposed by another ELF module.
This option is required for user code to link properly to Qt, otherwise
they will get linker errors (assuming GNU binutils >= 2.39) or runtime
failures (glibc >= 2.35). Both versions of glibc and binutils are older
than GCC 12, so it's a safe assumption they are in use and downgrading
the toolchain or libc is not supported. Adding this option to the
compilation is assured for CMake and qmake-based projects.
For example, all accessess to QCoreApplication::self in QtCore, after
this change and with GCC 12 are relocation-free and direct:

QObject's cache the binding status pointer to avoid TLS lookups.
However, when an object is moved to a different thread, we need to
update the cached pointer (as the original thread might stop and thus no
longer exist, and to correctly allow setting up bindings in the object's
thread).
Fix this by also storing the binding status in QThreadPrivate and
updating the object's binding status when moved. This does only work
when the thread is already running, though. If it is not running, we
instead treat the QThreadPrivate's status pointer as a pointer to a
vector of pending objects. Once the QThread has been started, we check
if there are pending objects, and update them at this point.

Patch 13399bd54d084ed837ec061ca9315dbd173f3b48 removed the accept
handler on QQuickFileDialog, which was triggering setSelectFiles on
android.
So changed qandroidplatformfiledialoghelper to also emit currentChanged
which will trigger the QQuickFileDialog to setSelectFiles since there
is a connect to that signal. Emitting currentChanged signal is also the
signal used in others QPlatformFileDialogHelpers.

Reading the kernel sources, I was sure we'd get an ECHILD if the child
hadn't exited yet, but that's not the case. We only get ECHILD if the
current process has no child processes. But if we do have one and the
one we're waiting for hasn't exited, waitid() returns 0.
So let's not attempt to correct it with forkfd_wait() or forkfd_wait4().
Those have "wait" in the name, so they should behave exactly the same
way. The man pages say:
waitpid(): if WNOHANG was specified and one or more child(ren)
specified by pid exist, but have not yet changed state, then 0 is
returned.
waitid(): returns 0 on success or if WNOHANG was specified and no
child(ren) specified by id has yet changed state
This was found while studying QTBUG-100174.
QProcess does not use this code path (blocking mode forkfd only).

This private method doubled as the implementation of both fromString()
and isValidColorName(). By reformulating isValidColorName() as
fromString().isValid(), we can then turn setColorFromString() into
fromString(), by returning the data, instead of setting it on *this
through use of exported functions.
Since we need to touch the if's anyway, to remove braces, use C++17
if-with-initializer to turn the second if into an else-of, saving one
return {}.

It is customary for Qt types that can be constructed from string-ish
to provide a fromString() named constructor. QColor didn't, relying
instead on a set of overloaded implicit and explicit constructors.
Add the named constructor, with the intent to deprecate the string-ish
QColor constructors after a grace period.
To prevent new users from using known-to-become-deprecated API, mark
the old functions as \obsolete.
Also rename isValidColor() to isValidColorName(). The only reason why
these are lumped together in single commit is so that their docs can
refer to each other instead of having to temporarily refer to obsolete
API.

Some remarks:
* QStandardItemModel builds just fine (QFlags has comparison operators
against literal zero); the warning we however get is about 0 converted
to a null pointer constant. There's nothing we can do about that one
(even <compare> gives such a warning).
* Several code was depending on flags->int conversions. Add toInt(),
but also cast again to the expected type to avoid warnings in case
toInt() returns unsigned int.
* Ported to explicit casts to bool rather than test(Any)Flag to minimize

The deprecated Carbon function FSIsAliasFile() returned isAlias only for
actual aliases, whereas the replacement CFURLCopyResourcePropertyForKey
with kCFURLIsAliasFileKey returns true for both aliases and symbolic
links.
Since we didn't explicitly check for AliasType in any of our internal
code, or or any of the public API, the distinction did not cause any
issues, but if we want to expose QFileInfo::isAlias() we need to fix
this.

When we use a native view controller for selecting documents, we have
two methods to implement from UIDocumentPickerDelegate (a file was selected
or the selection was cancelled). Unfortunately, swiping a view away
was not handled, so neither 'accept' nor 'reject' was called. Depending
on the classes using QIOSFileDialog, this may leave them in some incorrect
state, not knowing that they are 'closed' anyway.
As suggested by Tor Arne, the solution is to implement
UIAdaptivePresentationControllerDelegate's method, namely
-presentationControllerDidDismiss:, which never gets called if the
controller was dismissed programatically (the case of accept/reject).

The code didn't make much sense:
- QHighDpi::fromNativeLocalPosition should not take global positions
- QPlatformWindow::mapFromGlobal() should not take local positions
Tested with a basic MFC window that has a QMainWindow as child
(parented with QWinWidget from QtWinMigrate). Menus would be off
when on a secondary screen with dpi factor > 1

A recent change introduced a cut-off in believing MS's claims that a
zone has always had a yearly cycle of DST, to stop believing it before
1900, as no actual zone adopted DST that early. However, this was only
applied to the data() method to get the data for a specified time;
failure to do the same for {next,previous}Transition lead to
inconsistent results and tripped up an assertion. The change to data()
also failed to consider the situation of a southern hemisphere zone,
for which the rule will claim the early part of the year was in DST;
and init() should also mark an initial DST-recurrence rule as starting
no earlier than 1900.
Add corresponding FIRST_DST_YEAR checks to {next,previous}Transition()
to be consistent with the one in data(), refine data()'s checking and
amend init().

The first transition in a year with DST is *to* DST precisely if the
year *doesn't* start in DST, not if it does.
Also fix the startsInDst() check it's using there, which neglected the
possibility that the year's DST transition might be faked.

In nextTransition() it wasn't being carried over from one rule to the
next, as intended. It needs to be defined at function level, set for
the first rule and updated for each new year tried. Also assert that
it does faithfully reflect the standard time in rules without
transitions.
In the process of fixing that, since it's computed from the
yearEndOffset() of a prior year, test whether that year is less than
the rule start rather than whether the present year is less than or
equal to it. As the prior year is immediately before the present year,
this makes no difference, but it clarifies the reasoning. Apply this
clarification also in data() and previousTransition() for consistency.

In QWinTimeZonePrivate::previousTransition(), an initial no-transition
first rule was interpreted as implying a transition to its standard
time at "the start of time". Do the same for times before the start of
the first rule even if it is a DST recurrence; and, in data(), treat
times before the first rule as being in its standard time.
In the process, restructure data() to do that early return first,
instead of in an else clause, so as to dedent the other branch of its
code and make clearer how it fits into its outer loop.

A transition outside the range of qint64 would be mapped to
invalidMSecs(), the same as the fake-detection sets a fake transition
to. This would have lead to a year at the boundary of qint64's range
being mistaken for a fake-DST year. So replace the fakesDst() method,
that compared transition times to invalidMSecs(), with an actual
boolean member that gets set when detecting fake DST, so that the
detection is correctly done.

The end-of-year checks previously presumed they would accompany a zero
daylight-savings change there; however, this misunderstands what a
fake transition is doing. A fake at the end of the year means that the
transition during the year is out of the time the fake claims it goes
into, so the offset nominally in effect after the fake should match
the offset the year started in, the same as for a year-start fake.
However, implementing that exposed the fact that Bangladesh's brief
flirtation with DST in 2009 ended at the end of the year, and MS's
data has no other instance (aside from entirely bogusly claiming that
Bhutan did the same in 2009) of an end-of-year transition, in
particular no fake transitions. So the end-of-year case for faking
does not arise and I've eliminated it from the code here. This
greatly simplifies the code to detect fake DST rules.
At the same time, in the ruleToData() wrapper, use the transition
implied by isDst only if it isn't the fake one; the other is the only
real transition in the year anyway, however described. Also, extract
the detection of start-of-year transition times to a function and make
it more exact.

The minMSecs() itself is one more than the type's min(), which is used
as invalidMSecs(). As (at least) the Windows back-end uses minMSecs()
as the time of a start-of-time transition (that we'd like to find as
our current transition), use one more than it as lower-bound for where
to search from for a previous transition, so that we do find that
first ever transition.

The methods give them more appropriate names. This revealed one place
where the min() that's actually invalidMSecs() was being used for a
time that should have been in the supported range, so amend that to
use minMSecs(). Replaced a use of invalidMSecs() + 1 with minMSecs(),
to which it is equal, as that was the meaning it was used for.
At the same time, make those methods constexpr (because they are) and
[[nodiscard]], since their values should be used, while dropping their
fatuous inline (the bodies are inline in the declarations).

Remove the unholy bool out parameter and make QtPrivate::to{Double,
Float,{Signed,Unsigned}Integer}() return a struct instead.
The struct contains what we'll most likely need for a full
QParsedNumber in the future: the value, an error code (always zero
atm), and a pointer to the first character that wasn't parsed (always
nullptr atm), so we don't need to change the ABI when QParsedNumber
eventually lands.
As an immediate positive contribution, even without the backend ported
away from bool out parameters, the functions can now be marked as PURE
and, in case of the FP versions, also noexcept (the int versions have
a narrow contract d/t the base argument, which, unlike the return
value, can be fixed later, by overloading).

Rename the resize() function of its internal buffer into the possibly
better resizeForOverwrite(). The point is that unlike an ordinary resize
the data in the buffer is NOT initialized, and therefore must be
overwritten by the caller, "or else".

We had proper CMake tests for all we needed, so we can drop the old
detection we were forced to use way back when. Said test (CMake's own
FindBacktrace.cmake) even found QNX's offering, which we reported as
"yes" in our configure output, but never actually used because it was a
different API. Now we'll report "no" for QNX.

On Android orientation changes are reported from the
DisplayListener.onDisplayChanged() method, while the screen size
changes are reported from QtLayout.onSizeChanged().
In practice these callbacks come in random order, so rotating the
screen multiple times might result in inconsistent order of signals
and events.
This patch makes sure that size change events always happen before
orientation changes. This is done by caching the new orientation
values and reporting them only when needed. At this point we also
need to use QMetaObject::invokeMethod() for orientation change,
like it is done for geometry change. Otherwise the orientation
update can still be processed earlier than the geometry change.
Also note that at some point we might get an orientation change
without a size change (for example Qt::LandscapeOrientation ->
Qt::InvertedLandscapeOrientation). That is the reason for
isSimilarRotation() helper function.
As a drive-by: ignore size changes with inconsistent values when window
size is reported to have old orientation, while the screen has already
been rotated. In such cases a new size change will be triggered shortly
with normal value.

Screen has 3 parameters:
- physical size
- screen size (or screen geometry)
- available geometry
Before this patch, they were reported in 3 different methods. Screen
size update and available geometry update both were generating the
"screen geometry changed" event, that updated the user-visible
parameters. As a result, at some point we could end up in an
intermediate state, when screen size was already updated, but
available geometry was not yet updated.
This was specially visible while changing the screen orientation:
at some point screen geometry could be reported for the new
orientation, while the available geometry - still for old orientation.
This patch introduces a new method to set all geometry-related
parameters together and generate only one "screen geometry changed"
event. This allows to maintain consistency between 'geometry' and
'availableGeometry' properties of QScreen.

We can use the new org.freedesktop.appearance color-scheme setting in
the XDG Desktop Portal Settings to implement this in a DE-independent
way.
In the future we can also use the related "SettingChanged" signal in the
Desktop portal to support changing the theme during runtime.

Our associative containers' iterator's value_type isn't a destructurable
type (yielding key/value). This means that something like
for (auto [k, v] : map)
doesn't even compile -- one can only "directly" iterate on the
values. For quite some time we've had QKeyValueIterator to allow
key/value iteration, but then one had to resort to a "traditional" for
loop:
for (auto i = map.keyValueBegin(), e = keyValueEnd(); i!=e; ++i)
This can be easily packaged in an adaptor class, which is what this
commmit does, thereby offering a C++17-compatible way to obtain
key/value iteration over associative containers.
Something possibly peculiar is the fact that the range so obtained is
a range of pairs of references -- not a range of references to pairs.
But that's easily explained by the fact that we have no pairs to build
references to; hence,
for (auto &[k, v] : map.asKeyValueRange())
doesn't compile (lvalue reference doesn't bind to prvalue pair).
Instead, both of these compile:
for (auto [k, v] : map.asKeyValueRange())
for (auto &&[k, v] : map.asKeyValueRange())
and in *both* cases one gets references to the keys/values in the map.
If the map is non-const, the reference to the value is mutable.
Last but not least, implement pinning for rvalue containers.

This works on iOS and Android, and Windows with touchscreen.
On Android, we need to listen to the input event
of a hidden text element and synthesize Qt keyboard
events from that in order to get input events into Qt.
On Windows, we need to be more creative about bringing the native
virtual keyboard up.
Because the entire canvas is contenteditable, we need to specify the
inputmode is set to 'none', otherwise the v keyboard pops up
when user clicks anywhere on the canvas. Therefore we set a hidden
element as contenteditable, which pops up keyboard when Qt
needs it for editable widgets. On Android, this is the same
element that is used to proxy the keyboard input.

The existing API of QFlatMap did not allow efficient removal of
elements:
- std::remove_if does not apply, because it works by moving elements
back in the range onto those that need to be removed, which doesn't
work in flat_map's case, because, like for all associative
containers, the key in value_type is const.
- The node-based erase-loop (over it = cond ? c.erase(it) :
std::next(it)) works, but, unlike in traditional associative
containers, is quadratic, because flat_map::erase is a linear
operation.
According to Stepanov's principle of Efficient Computational Basis
(Elements of Programming, Section 1.4), we're therefore missing API.
Add it.
I couldn't make up my mind about the calling convention for the
predicate and, despite having authored a merged paper about erase_if,
can never remember what the predicate is supposed to take, so be fancy
and accept all: (*it), (it.key(), it.value()), (it.key()). This means
that unary predicates can either not be generic or must be properly
constrained to distinguish between pair<const K, V> and K, but that's
not necessarily a bad thing.
There's no reason to supply a Qt-ified removeIf on top of the standard
name, because this is private API and doubling the names would do
nothing except double the testing overhead.

In QPainter, clipping can only be done on whole pixels. The various
ways of specifying a clipping rectangle to the QPainter API have been
inconsistent in how fractional rectangles (either specified directly,
or as a result of fractional scaling) are mapped (rounded) to integer
coordinates.
Also, the mappings have not made sure to keep the edge-to-edge
property of clip rects under scaling. This is particularly important
when scaling QRegions with multiple rects, as QRegion is designed on
the assumption that an area can be described as a set of edge-to-edge
rects.
The fix rounds a clip rect identically with a fill rect. (Indeed, a
followup plan would be to merge QRasterPaintEngine's
toNormalizedFillRect() with the rectangle rounding function in this
commit).
Notably, a QRectF clip is now interpreted the same as a QPainterPath
clip describing the same area.

We don't currently have a use for the extra parameters, but Samuel
Mira's fix to ensure we don't miss fatal signals on Android needs to
be able to call the prior handler, which may need these parameters.
In the process, check returns from sigaction() and use its nullptr
semantics to query first when detecting whether to restore the default
when done, rather than setting and then restoring if it turns out
we've been replaced in the meantime.

keys encoded with UTF-8, as well as the %-encoded format. Writing

Qt projects on Android were failing to correctly load the plugin lib.
The main reason is missing environment variables when the media
integration starts. To make sure that the variables are loaded, I have
change the setenv to be done in the java side instead of c++ side.

Before this patch, the system menu will always appear on
the top-left corner of the window if the window doesn't
have the standard window frame. However, this doesn't look
very good on most situations, especially when the window
has a homemade title bar. This patch adds an extra check
for this kind of situations. This patch will automatically
apply an appropriate offset for the system menu if the user
is trying to use a self-made title bar for their frameless
or customized windows.

The correct calculation of the invisible frame margin and the window
border width (they are the same thing actually) is the thickness
of the size frame plus the thickness of the padded border. When
DPI is 96, both of them is 4px and thus the invisible frame margin
and window border width is 8px. So previously the empirical
magic number can work normally is because the error is very small.
It's not a big thing because even on a high DPI screen the error
is still very small. For example, on my 4K monitor with 200%
scaling, the error is only 2px, human eyes almost can't find the
visual difference. But since we now know how to calculate these
values correctly, let's use the correct calculation instead. The
magic numbers and empirical expressions just make people confused.

QLabelPrivate uses pointers and dynamically allocated objects as a form
of optional. To add insult to injury, the objects are implictly shared,
compounding the effects in terms of required allocations.
Just use std::optional instead.

Ensure both versioned and versionless functions
are available.
Use the versioned function in the implementation of
qt6_generate_deploy_app_script.
Move the low-level warning to the top of the documentation page,
after the TP message.
Clarify documentation of the EXECUTABLE and
ADDITIONAL_ options, that they take relative paths and can use
generator expressions, but can't reference raw target names.
Adjust documentation snippet to cover mac / windows cases.
This mostly coincides with the internal implementation of
qt_generate_deploy_app_script.
Also adjust it to show case more options, like installation of a
helper app and its dependencies.
Output the working directory when executing the deploy tool.
Remove the MACOS_BUNDLE option, it serves no good purpose at the
moment, we already detect bundles by checking if the dir name has
an '.app' suffix.

QHeaderView creates persistent indexes in
_q_sectionsAboutToBeChanged(), called by the slot connected to
rowsAboutToBeMoved/columnsAboutToBeMoved.
In the case of rows, QAbstractItemModel emits the signal *before*
preparing to update persistent indexes in itemsAboutToBeMoved(),
so it can see the ones newly created by QHeaderView, all is well.
In the case of columns, the emit was done *after* calling
itemsAboutToBeMoved(), so the additional persistent indexes created by
QHeaderView were ignored, and in endMoveRows() we could end up with:
ASSERT failure in QPersistentModelIndex::~QPersistentModelIndex: "persistent model indexes corrupted"
This bug has been there since the very beginning of beginMoveColumns(),
but was undetected because moving columns in a model is pretty rare
(in my case there's a QTransposeProxyModel that turns columns into
rows in the underlying model, and a proxy that handles dropMimeData...)

While switching to the 'momentary push in' button type, the old code that
shows button as pressed/checked was removed. Since 'square' buttons
were sharing this part with rounded push buttons, the change broke
checked square buttons. So we retain the old code for this particular
case.
Also, add a minimal baseline test for this scenario: square button,
triggering 'toolbutton' style with/out 'checked' state.

The sscanf implementation ensured NUL-termination of the input data,
by copying it, and appending NUL.
Since this function is ignoring trailing garbage and reports the
progress back, we could be parsing the first double in a multi-MiB
buffer. And we'd been copying and copying the buffer for every double
scanned. This is clearly not acceptable.
An alternative is to use the max-field-width feature of scanf. By
giving the size of the input data as the maximum field width in the
format string, we stop sscanf from reading more than the available
data.
This code should let everyone's alarm bells go off: a format string
constructed at run-time is really the last thing one should consider,
but I haven't found a way to pass the field width as an argument, so
bite the bullet and go through with it. Copying potentially MiBs of
data is the worse of the two evils.

When calling QLabel::setPixmap() with a 1bpp pixmap (i.e. a bitmap), and
that pixmap didn't have a mask set, QLabel would then set the pixmap as
its own mask.
This seems to be a no-op due to how QPixmap::setMask is coded:
void QPixmap::setMask(const QBitmap &mask) {
// ...
if (static_cast<const QPixmap &>(mask).data == data) // trying to selfmask
return;
}
Moreover, in order to convert the pixmap to a QBitmap, the code would just
straight downcast it, triggering UB (if the input to setPixmap wasn't a
QBitmap to begin with).
I *guess* this was done this way to avoid a QBitmap::fromPixmap call,
which however is not expensive at all if the pixmap is already 1bpp,
which QLabel::setPixmap checks explicitly (before attempting to mask the
pixmap). I don't know the historical reasons for the code to have the
shape it had (and the code history is from before open governance).
So get two birds with one stone: remove the no-op and also the UB.

The stored layout direction used to get changed during initialization
to what was auto-detected based on the translation. Changing the
translation then overwrote that stored value, even if an explicit call
to setLayoutDirection was made by the application.
Calling QGuiApplication::setLayoutDirection(Auto) has so far been a
no-op.
Change this logic so that the stored layout direction continues to be
LayoutDirectionAuto also if it's set based on auto-detection, and only
overwrite it when explicitly called with a non-Auto value. This way,
applications can set a layout direction that stays unchanged even when
translators are installed.
Add test coverage that uses a QTranslator.
In practice, this is not a change of behavior, unless applications called
setLayoutDirection(Auto) (which is no longer a no-op), or called
setLayoutDirection() and then installed a translator and expected the
translator's layout direction to come into effect in spite of the explicit
setting.
[ChangeLog][Gui][QGuiApplication] Calling setLayoutDirection with a non-
auto value now disables the auto-detection based on installed
translators. Applications that explicitly set a layout direction and also
want translators installed afterwards to take effect should reset the
layout direction to Auto, which is now no longer a no-op.

The compile-time check for /permissive- only works from Visual Studio
16.7 onwards. Older compiler versions will fail the check, even if
/permissive- is passed.
Let's rather bail out with a more explicit error in this case.

Visual Studio 2019 version 16.7 (VC++ version 14.27). Trying to use

Hiding a row in a form layout is inconvenient to do as access to the
widgets in each row is cumbersome. In addition, a row might include a
layout for the label or the field column, and we can't hide layouts and
instead need to navigate to the widgets inside the layout. And even if
an application developer does all that, the spacing calculation doesn't
ignore hidden rows.
Add setRowVisible and isRowVisible APIs with the usual overloads.
Implement the logic to traverse a layout item to its contained widgets,
so that they are explicitly hidden when a row is hidden, and skip hidden
rows in the spacing calculation.

When we add the WS_THICKFRAME/WS_CAPTION window flags to a
frameless window the return value of AdjustWindowRectEx is no
longer 0. This works fine when creating the window since the version
of QWindowsGeometryHint::frame used during creation checks the
FramelessWindowHint, however later when the window changes
screen, the screen change code checks the fullFrameMargins which
uses a version of QWindowsGeometryHint::frame that does not
early out, causing a missmatch in the geometries of the backing
store and platform window.
This fixes aero snapping shortcuts for frameless windows on multi
monitor setups.

When building Qt itself or Qt standalone tests (but not user projects),
qt6_android_add_apk_target and qt6_android_generate_deployment_setting
can now be called at any time after the Android executable target is
created.
Note: Because we're now using genexes when we build Qt as described
above, Qt developers are required to use Unix-style paths for the
following target properties:

QGuiApplicationPrivate::lastCursorPosition is initialized with qInf();
so before Qt has seen a mouse move event, attempting to convert to
QPoint is an error. It's best to have one place where we do the qIsInf()
check rather than several (and otherwise prefer using the QPointF as-is
rather than converting to QPoint at all).
Introduce a helper class that contains a QPointF, and provides a safe
conversion to QPoint, as well as simple accessors for clients using
QPointF.

By copying 'd' instead of the (larger, on 32-bit platforms),
state_data variadic member, we may corrupt the state (by copying only
half the state).
Fix by copying state_data instead, which is guaranteed to be the
larger of the two.
The move-assignment operator must be self-assignment-safe in the
moved-from state (Hinnant Criterion), so we need to use memmove(), not
memcpy().
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QStringEncoder/Decoder] Fixed a potential data
corruption in the move constructor and move-assignment operator on
32-bit platforms.

In Qt 5, QVariant::isNull() was true when the contained object had an
isNull() that was true; this is no longer true in Qt 6, so we now have
QSqlResultPrivate::isVariantNull() to test is-or-contains
null. However, for date-times, QSqlDriver::formatValue() treats
invalid QDateTime as NULL, since it needs its toString(Qt::ISODate),
which will be empty if invalid. As QDateTime's isValid() is more
stringent than its !isNull(), this can lead to one that's neither
valid nor null, such as QDateTime(QDate(), QTime(0, 0)), producing an
invalid entry in a database.
Do the same for QTime, as its isValid() is more stringent than
!isNull(), and its toString() likewise returns empty on invalid
(although it's not clear it's possible to construct one that's neither
valid nor null). For QDate valid and null are simply complementary.
[ChangeLog][QSql] Handling of QDateTime and QTime values passed to SQL
now consistently treats invalid as null. Some values of these types
are neither valid nor null, which could lead to invalid data being
given to the SQL database. Invalid values are now treated as null to
prevent this.

Mention in the docs that qt_generate_deploy_app_script does not
currently support cross-build scenarios.

Instead of performing decisions inside the single aeshash() function, we
have three implementations instead. Those decisions are permanent for
each CPU, so the branch predictor should be pretty good, but hashing is
somewhat performance-sensitive.
We're only adding three of the four possible combinations of AVX512VL
and VAES. Excluded from the implementation are the CPUs that support
AVX512 but not VAES, which are the Skylake-based ones. Those are mostly
found in server CPUs (Intel Xeon Scalable line) as well as top-end
workstations (Intel Core i9), but never made into general desktop and
laptop parts. For those, the performance will remain what it was in Qt
6.3.
VAES is supported in Intel architectures codenamed Sunny Cove and
Gracemont and their successors. That means it's supported in both the E
and P cores of the Intel Alder Lake (12th Generation Core), as well as
future Atom lines. But neither Atoms nor hybrid CPUS have AVX512 (at
least when the E cores are active).
AVX512+VAES is supported for Ice Lake (10th Generation Core), Tiger Lake
(11th) as well as later generation with AVX512 support enabled. Like in
qstring.cpp, we restricted ourselves to 256-bit operations, which don't
cause performance impact and because the 512-bit VAESENC operates on the
fused Ports 0 and 1, so it has the exact same throughput as two 256-bit
VAESENC.

It's not worth having both cases, since they run at the same time. The
difference is which CPUs they run for: the non-VAES AVX512 code can run
on the Skylake-based AVX512 CPUs, which aren't a usual target for Qt
(servers and workstations), while the AVX512 and VAES case includes the
Ice Lake and Tiger Lake desktop and laptop CPUs.
This is not a good trade-off, but is an stepping stone for the next
commit.

The strategy is explained in the aeshash() function. I've chosen to
exclude the case of simultaneous VAES and AVX512VL support for len <= 32
case. Instead, the aeshash128_lt32_avx256() does not attempt to use
VAES, because we wouldn't be getting sufficient benefit at the cost of
code expansion (AESENC can dispatch 2 per cycle). See simulation at
https://analysis.godbolt.org/z/8Y54PMWGj.
The code is slightly convoluted with unexpected indentation so most of
the important lines in the algorithm aren't changed by this commit.

The State state data member had non-noexcept move-SMFs, which were
inherited by the move-SMFs of QStringConverter, QStringEncoder and
QStringDecoder.
To fix, because it is called in the move-assignment operator, we need
to mark State::clear() as noexcept, and, since that can perform an
indirect call through clearFn, require the clearFn to be noexcept,
too.
The only users of clearFn were in Qt5Compat; a separate fix should
have been merged there by the time this lands.

The existing name lookup code used C's toupper() function for
case-insensitive comparison. However, that function's result depends
on the current locale.
Since the matcher is supposed to match the likes of "iso-8859-1" and
"latin-1", matching may fail in locales, such as Turkish, where
toupper(i) is İ (or i, if the former isn't representable in the current
charset), but toupper(I) remains I, causing a False Negative.
To fix, use the US-ASCII-only QtMiscUtils::toAsciiLower() function,
which has the added advantage that it's inline.

It's probably a user mistake that they didn't know what they really
wanted. Since no processor that supports AVX2 fails to support the rest
of x86-64-v3, we should enable all of that so we can make use of its
features. Notably, we may want to use FMA at some point in QtGui, and
the compiler will likely use BMI, BMI2, and LZCNT on its own (see
qnumeric.h).

The qCpuHasFeature() macro doesn't work in C mode in x86 because it
tries to use enums only available in C++ mode, but the qCpuFeatures()
function does. You can write:

For static builds we need 3rdparty headers to be installed.
Leaf modules like qtwebengine needs 3rdparty libs and header for
zlib, freetype, harfbuzz, png, jpeg. Without those the Chromium bundled
versions are used, however it might end up badly if qt has already
bundled one.
Introduce new header only modules with additional arguments for
qt_internal_add_module:
* EXTERNAL_HEADERS to pick exactly which headers are public
* EXTERNAL_HEADERS_DIR to include whole directory preserving the
files directory structure
Fix qtsync so it keep directory structure for all non-qt modules when
syncing headers and do not generate warnings for headers files.

All[*] compilers support it, always. The last to not support it was GCC
4.8, which we don't support in Qt 6.
[*] Anecdotally, clang-cl doesn't but clang-cl isn't supported and that
would be an upstream problem: clang-cl developers must find a solution
that either matches Clang or cl.exe.

These can't be done before Qt 7, unlike their CBOR counterparts, for
binary-compatibility reasons: in 6.x, QJson{Const,}ValueRef must hold a
pointer to an extant QJsonArray or QJsonObject. So this is implemented
for Qt 7 / bootstrap only for now.
Unfortunately, they can't be tested either.

It seems to have been a QObject solely for its single slot.
But since Qt 5, slots need no longer be defined on QObjects, so we can
remove the inheritance from QObject now. We still need a QObject as
the context object in connect(), but that can be just be an aggregated
naked QObject.
Saves 26 relocations, ~1.5KiB in TEXT and ~0.3KiB in DATA on optimized
GCC 11.2 Linux AMD64 C++20 builds.

All color names supported by QColor are US-ASCII.
Enforce this with a static_assert, then use this fact to perform the
case-folding of the input in US-ASCII instead of Unicode.
Avoids lookups in the Unicode tables.
Add QtMiscUtils::toAsciiLower() to foster sharing.

Bring out the asymmetry between date and time more clearly; when date
is valid, an invalid time is ignored in favor of QTime(0, 0). At the
same time, eliminate an un-needed variable from the code that
implements this special handling. (Left over from when the QTime was
passed by const ref, rather than by value.)

A recent change made sure the handling of a time before the first rule
would be handled correctly; but I wrongly supposed relevant code would
only be exercised in that case. However, it is also run when the
moment after which we want a transition is after the last transition
in the rule for its year: we fall through to the next rule and need to
find its first transition.

Documenting the case where a year starts in DST belongs on the pair
whose job is to work that out. The selection of which transition to
report based on an isDst flag could be said once instead of thrice if
made into a method there, too.

Otherwise the QWindow will not end up with a surface format with an alpha.
This issue had been hiding in the shadows because we hard-code the backing
store image format to include an alpha, but was discovered when trying to
use RHI to flush the backing store, which does respect the window format.

Relying on string manipulation leads to -Wredundant-parens warnings in
the best case, and to non-compiling code (when using typedefs) in the
worst case.
We can avoid both issues by simply generating code that uses
add_pointer, which takes care of reference types (even typedef'd ones),
and creates no warnings about parens (as we don't write any anymore).

Moved to after the header is actually written, not just generated.
For requests with data (put/post) we may have to wait for a callback
before the data to write is available. Since we then delay writing the

External projects complain about missing host Qt if its location
is different from the one is used when Qt for Android was compiled,
when building multi-ABI package.
This propagates the QT_HOST_PATH, QT_ADDITIONAL_PACKAGES_PREFIX_PATH,
QT_ADDITIONAL_HOST_PACKAGES_PREFIX_PATH variables to the ABI-specific
external projects.

Amends fa854f214a. If user call
QPrinter::setDuplex method, the QPrintDialog explicitDuplexMode value
won't update.
Fix this by:
1) handle device-specific default and value set in QPrinter in

That is, allow QtCore to get loaded and print its "missing features"
text without crashing with an undefined instruction. We'll still
abort(), so it's still a "crash", but it'll happen after the message is
printed.
Tested with Intel's Software Development Emulator[1]:

Instead of lazily initializing. We usually don't do this in Qt, but in
this case there are two very good reasons for it:
1) the call tp qCpuFeatures() was not trivial, with the need to preserve
a bit of state in the caller function across the call. GCC appeared
to generate better code than Clang in this regard, but it still
implied more cost than we'd like to do runtime detection in
performance-sensitive places in Qt.
2) the early initialization allows us to use the detected state in GNU
indirect functions on platforms that support it.
In order to do this, I had to rewrite the QT_NO_CPU_FEATURE environment
variable parsing without QByteArray and instead rely on string.h's
strtok().
This can't be done for static Qt builds on platforms that don't support
the GNU init_priority variable attribute or the MSVC equivalent[1],
because otherwise we can't guarantee that this bit of code runs before
everything else in Qt. For those platforms, we keep the existing lazy
initialization.
For shared builds in those platforms, we can use the dynamic
initialization. All known linkers will sort the static initialization
code in the order in which the .cpp are linked into the library.
The x86 QSimdInitialized variable will be removed in the next commit.

On 32-bit systems, the non-sequential device could be pointing to a
device of 2 GB or more in size. If so, we should allow reading up to
the limit (2 GB - overhead), like we do for sequential devices in the
block above.
It could also happen on 64-bit systems, but the chance that you do have
a file bigger than 8 EB is remote.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QIODevice] Changed readAll() handling of large
non-sequential devices like files that are bigger than the maximum
QByteArray size (on 32-bit systems, just under 2 GB). Previously,
readAll() always returned empty; now it will attempt to read from the
device.

Fix bug where QWindow content would be drawn with an
offset from the QScreen’s topLeft if the page was scrolled.
On Qt for WebAssembly, screen geometry is equivalent
to canvas geometry, where the canvas position is the
position of the canvas on the document body.
getBoundingClientRect() is the correct function to use
here, however it returns a rect relative to the viewport.
Offsetting this rect by offsetLeft/Top can work in some
bases, but this offset is relative to HTMLElement.offsetParent
and not necessarily to the document body.
Determine the correct QScreen position by subtracting
the body position from the canvas position (both relative
to the viewport).

GTK buttons can be pressed with Space, Return and Enter, so this should
be considered native behavior for GTK based desktop environments.
Qt::Key_Select is also included here because QAbstractButton has been
pressable with Qt::Key_Select for a long time.

The required canvas configuration is an implementation
detail; move it out of the .html file (which we expect
that users will replace), and into the QWasmScreen
constructor.
This also enables using a div element as the container
element (instead of a canvas), since Qt then can create
and configure the canvas during QWasmScreen construction.

Platforms should allow more than just Qt::Key_Space and Qt::Key_Select
to press buttons. KDE Plasma developers want to be able to press buttons
with Return/Enter. GTK allows buttons to be pressed with Return/Enter,
so this should be considered the native behavior for GNOME as well.
Adding this ThemeHint allows customizing the keys that can press a
button via a QPlatformTheme subclass.

value[x] is the same as value.toMap()[x] but avoids the refcounting up
and down just to call the operator[] overload. We're calling the
operator[] overload taking an integer, which means it could match an
array, but we know the data member won't be one because of how
QPluginParsedMetaData::parse() parses.

Bundle a default LaunchScreen.storyboard file for an iOS app and make
sure it's referenced in the generated Info.plist file.
When launching Qt examples, it ensures the app uses the whole screen
space on the device rather than just a square-ish part of it.
The storyboard file is a copy of the qmake one, which qmake adds
to the Xcode projects it generates.
A custom launch screen can be provided either by setting the
QT_IOS_LAUNCH_SCREEN variable or by setting the
QT_IOS_LAUNCH_SCREEN target property.
The value must be an absolute path to the launch screen file.
The automatic addition of the launch screen entry in the Info.plist
file can be prevented by setting the QT_NO_SET_IOS_LAUNCH_SCREEN
variable to TRUE.
The automatic bundling of the launch screen file in the application
bundle can be prevented by setting the
QT_NO_ADD_IOS_LAUNCH_SCREEN_TO_BUNDLE variable to TRUE.
The current implementation has a limitation that only one launch
screen storyboard and one iOS executable can exist within a project.
If there are multiple executables in the project, all of them will
use the launch screen that is specified last (the last
qt_add_executable call).
Because of this limitation, the API is marked as Technical Preview,
to be improved upon in the future. For now it simply serves as an
improvement to the out-of-the-box experience of iOS apps built
with CMake.

Instead of storing a pointer to the QJsonArray or QJsonObject (like the
Qt 4 & pre-5.15 versions did), do like QCborValueConstRef and store the
pointer to the QCborContainerPrivate.
Unlike QCborValueRef, we must keep the is_object bit because of API
behavior that assigning an Undefined to an object reference deletes it
from the container. I've chosen to use size_t instead of qsizetype for
this because then we don't lose any bits of the index. Therefore, the
index in the case of objects is stored as pair count (like before),
different from QCborValueRef which stores the actual index in the
QCborContainerPrivate.
It's the LSB (on little-endian architectures) so the calculation of
2 * index + 1 is the actual value stored in memory or in the
register. Unfortunately, right now, both Clang and GCC don't realize
this and generate unnecessary instructions. Clang:

Inline some content to avoid unnecessary round-trips through
qcborvalue.cpp, qjsonarray.cpp and qjsonobject.cpp.
Unlike the CBOR counterparts, JSON support has this extra functionality
that assigning Undefined causes the item to be removed from the object
(arrays don't have that behavior, they just become null).
And unlike QCborValueRef, we detach on assignment, not on the obtention
of the QJsonValueRef. This is more dangerous, so we may want to revise.

double where the QJsonValue matched the asked type, the cost was minimal
anyway. For the other types and when the type didn't match, this
resulted in up/down the reference counter in QCborContainerPrivate and
an out-of-line call to the destructor.
This improves the performance for code like:

doSomething();
}
}
This change propagates the inadviseable behavior of allowing a
dereference of the end() reference in concrete() to concreteType() (and
unit-tests it) but does not do the same for the toXxx() functions. Doing
that causes a dereference of QList's end() iterator, which is UB
(asserts false in debug mode).

Commit 35adb74ddd ("Reimplement JSON
support on top of Cbor") accidentally forgot to multiply by 2 the index
stored in the QJsonObject::iterator. The same mistake was propagated
when QJsonObject::iterator was converted to QJsonValueRef. This had no
ill effects because the o->elements container would always contain more
elements, but it meant the check was ineffective and meant nothing.
So instead of doing nothing when the iterator does not point to this
container, simply assume it does. Bad things will happen if you try to
erase an iterator that points to another container, but that's true for
almost all container/iterator mechanisms.
Drive-by modernization of some of the surrounding lines.

I screwed up when I wrote QCborValueRef by not having the ConstRef
type. The code worked, but it wasn't const-correct, allowing you to
write:
const QCborArray &arr = something();
*arr.begin() = QCborArray();
This mistake was brought over to QJsonValue in Qt 6.0, so it has to be
fixed for QJsonValue too. The actual fixes are in the next couple of
commits.
This change is believed to be binary-compatible: the Q{Json,Cbor}ValueRef
classes continue to have the exact same size, except that they're now
empty and have a new base class. They weren't trivial before this commit
doesn't change that.
[ChangeLog][Potentially Source-Incompatible Changes] The iterator
classes for Qt's JSON and CBOR containers (array and map/object) had a
const correctness issue which allowed a const_iterator to mutate the
container being iterated on, even if that container was itself const. Qt
6.4 has a fix for this, but will cause compilation issues where
QCborValueRef and QJsonValueRef were used where the correctness could be
violated. To keep code compiling with both 6.3 and 6.4, either change to
non-const iteration or replace the QxxxValueRef with a const QxxxValue
reference. This change is binary-compatible.

QAccessibleInterface stores values as QVariants. When dealing with
double values, as a result of some calculation (for example, Slider
value update), rounding errors can be introduced.
When converting double values to QString using QVariant::toString(),
these rounding errors result in strings like
0.30000000000000004 instead of 0.3 or
2.7755575615628914e-17 instead of 0.3 - 3 * 0.1 and similar zeroes.
To fix this issue, this patch introduces a custom conversion for
floating-point values. The idea is to convert QVariant to double,
and then convert double to QString using 'f' format and a suitable
precision, determined from the UI element's minimumStepSize(), if
it has one, otherwise falling back to QString::number()'s default
(which is 6).

Before this patch when we focus a new element, only its description
was announced.
For elements like Slider that means that if it had no accessible name
or description, its value would be announced (all is fine here).
But if the slider is defined like that:

only the name ("int slider") will be announced, but not the actual
value.
This patch fixes the logic of content description generation. If the
element has value, then it is added to the description and announced
as well.

Before this patch Android A11Y implementation was missing
ValueChanged event handling. As a result, no update was given
when the element's value was changed.
Handling these events allows us to announce value changes on such
objects like Slider, SpinBox, etc...
This is a universal method of value-change announcement, so it
supports all sorts of A11Y gestures.
On the Java side a new function was introduced to announce the
values, because we need to use the actual element's *value*,
not its accessible name or description.

[ChangeLog][QtGui][QDesktopServices] URL handlers that have been passed
to setUrlHandler() must now be removed by calling unsetUrlHandler()
before they are destroyed. Relying on the handler's destructor to
implicitly unset it is now deprecated, because it may already be in use
by concurrent openUrl() calls. Support for implicit unsetting will be
removed in 6.6 and, until then, a qWarning() is raised if it is
exercised.

When passing a nullptr to realpath, it will allocate memory. That memory
has to be freed (with free) later to avoid a leak, which we so far
didn't.
This patch ensures that we always clean up the memory by using a
unique_ptr. As a drive-by, clean up the control-flow:
- Always pass either the stack buffer or nullptr to realpath.
- Rely on realpath returning nullptr in the error case.
Lastly, fix a few coding-style issues.

The destructor of this polymorphic class was incorrectly marked for
removal in Qt 6, and, unfortunately, that was carried out. Now it
delivers one of the most-duplicated vtables across all of Qt (at least
four duplicates), and we can never add anything to it until Qt 7
(because existing code de-virtualized it as a no-op).

This de-inlines destuctors of classes whose vtables are proven to be
duplicated even within the set of Qt libraries.
Since these are all private API classes, we can pick all the way back
to 6.2, and we don't need the comment that the dtor must always stay
empty, like for public classes.
As a drive-by, also de-inline the QPaintDeviceWindowPrivate ctor.
That's just code hygiene, it doesn't partake in vtable duplicating.

If adding a QLineEdit to a QGraphicsScene as a QGraphicsProxyWidget, the popup
completion of that QLineEdit is drawn in the wrong location. When the completer
getting the rect of screen, it gets the rect of the QGraphicsScene where
QLineEdit is located rather than the rect of the screen, resulting in an error
in the following calculation.
Note that as long as the completer popup is a toplevel widget not parented
to the target widget, it will not be automatically embedded into the graphics
view via QGraphicsProxyWidget. So with multiple views for a scene, or in views
that use transformations, the geometry will still be off.

The previous code would fail if the windows taskbars are placed
to the top or left on the screen. The mistake was missed because
Windows seems to adjust the window position automatically
in case the window handles WM_NCCALCSIZE and returns 0,
which was the case for me.
