Tor Arne Vestbø 27db9e458c testlib: Clarify that our XUnit reporter is actually a JUnit reporter
The reporter was probably named 'xunit' based on the historical use of
xUnit to refer to testing frameworks derived from Smalltalk's SUnit.
These frameworks typically added their own prefix, e.g. JUnit for Java,
RUnit for R, etc.

The most popular of these was the JUnit framework, and the corresponding
XML output produced by the Ant built tool became somewhat of a de facto
standard, which is probably why we chose to model our reporter after it.

Nowadays however, naming it 'xunit' is problematic as there is actually
a testing famework named xUnit.net, typically shortened to, you guessed
it: xunit.

Test report consumers will typically have a junit mode, and an xunit
mode, and the latter could easily be mistaken for what testlib outputs,
unless we clarify this.

The clarification also allows us to safely extend our support for the
JUnit XML format to incorporate some elements that are nowadays common,
but where we are lagging behind the standard.

[ChangeLog][QTestLib] The formerly named 'xunitxml' test reporter has
been renamed to what it actually is: a JUnit test reporter, and is now
triggered by passing -o junitxml to the test binary.

Tor Arne Vestbø 3b42e098ef testlib: Add Test Anything Protocol (TAP) reporter
The Test Anything Protocol (TAP), was originally Perl's simple text-based
interface between testing modules and test harnesses, but has since been
adopted by a large number of producers and consumers in many different
languages, which allows colorizing and summarizing test results.

The format is very simple:

TAP version 13
ok 1 - test description
not ok 2 - test description
  ---
  message: 'Failure message'
  severity: fail
  expected: 123
  actual: 456
  ...
ok 3 - test description # SKIP
1..3

The specification [1] is very brief, so the implementation has been
based on how typical consumers behave, especially when it comes to
the undefined diagnostics block.

Tor Arne Vestbø 73b2dd49c2 testlib: Feed test log messages to Apple Unified Logging
QtTestLib uses its own message handler for plain text logging, so it doesn't
go though the logic in qDefaultMessageHandler that dispatches logging to
alternate logging sinks.

Building on the approach of Android and Windows, we log to AUL from the
plain text logger. A future improvement in this area would be to make
QtTestLib make more use of the infrastructure in qlogging.cpp, but this
is a bigger task and requires a better overview of the requirements.

The AUL code has been isolated into a wrapper, to allow logging both
to AUl and to e.g. the QPlainTextLogger. This is needed so that we
short circuit the plain text logger in case AUL already has handled
printing to stderr.

... and move toString() implementations there which were repeated in
network tests, or #ifdef'ed in qtest.h.

Since the functions moved from network tests are now in a public header,
had to massage them a bit to pass headersclean:

- replace Q_FOREACH with C++11 range-for
- avoid implicit conversion from QByteArray -> const char* (done by
re-using toString(QByteArray) instead of calling strdup() manually)

Also made the functions overloads instead of specializations. This
allows to pass the enum by value instead of by const-&.

Like the existing QHostAddress, the newly-added toString() overloads are
marked as \internal. We can decide later whether to turn them into
public API.

Tor Arne Vestbø 9ff1310af5 Distinguish between Objective-C and Objective-C++ sources
Instead of lumping both Objective-C (.m) and Objective-C++ (.mm) sources
into the same pile, passing them on to the same compiler as for C++ (CXX),
with the C++ flags (CXXFLAGS), we follow Apple's lead and treat them as
variants of the C and C++ languages separately, so that Objective-C
sources are built with CC and with CFLAGS, and Objective-C++ sources
with CXX, and CXXFLAGS.

This lets us remove a lot of duplicated flags and definitions from the
QMAKE_OBJECTIVE_CFLAGS variable, which in 99% of the cases just matched
the C++ equivalent. The remaining Objective-C/C++ flags are added to
CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS, as the compiler will just ignore them when running in
C/C++ mode. This matches Xcode, which also doesn't have a separate build
setting for Objective-C/C++ flags.

The Makefile qmake generator has been rewritten to support Objective-C/C++
fully, by not assuming that we're just iterating over the C and C++
extensions when dealing with compilation rules, precompiled headers, etc.
There's some duplicated logic in this code, as inherent by qmake's already
duplicated code paths, but this can be cleaned up when C++11 support is
mandatory and we can use lambda functions.

Thiago Macieira 6668f5becf Implement a more direct headersclean check
Test each include file directly, instead of doing a large #include. This
verifies that each header is compilable on its own. One big advantage of
doing it via a special compiler in qmake is that we skip pre-compiled
headers, which has hidden build errors in the past.

This solution is implemented by making syncqt produce a second list of
headers. This list is the same as the list of headers in the source
code to be installed, minus the headers that declare themselves to be
unclean, via the pragma:
  #pragma qt_sync_skip_header_check

This mechanism is applied only for public libraries (skipping
QtPlatformSupport, an internal_module).

This test is enabled only for -developer-builds of Qt because it
increases the compilation time.

On QtTest: the library only links to QtCore, but it has two headers that
provide inline-only functionality by including QtGui and QtWidgets
headers (namely, qtest_gui.h and qtest_widget.h). If those two modules
aren't getting compiled due to -no-gui or -no-widgets to configure, we
need to remove the respective headers from the list of headers to be
checked. If they are being built, then we need to make QtTest's build
wait for the headers to be generated and that happens when qmake is
first run inside the src/gui and src/widgets directories.

there is no reason why testlib in particular should have them, while
every other module uses the standard strings.

Tor Arne Vestbø 087efb572a Modularize documenation build
qdocconf files can now reference $QT_INSTALL_DOCS to pick up e.g. global
includes, instead of using relative paths. Qt modules will automatically
get a doc target that builds and installs into the right place (including
supporting shadow-builds) if they set QMAKE_DOCS before loading(qt_module).

Paul Olav Tvete 5ac4a1304b Make tests compile without gui-private
Add new qt_handleXXX functions that forward to the QWindowSystemInterface
functions, and use those in the testlib inline functions. Remove use of
struct QWindowSystemInterface::TouchPoint from the testlib header files
(requiring some slight increase in ugliness in the two tests that use
that struct).

Also remove the qmake hack that adds private headers to all tests

Oswald Buddenhagen 34cb86d46b make using testlib automatically "promote" all modules to -private
autotests often need private headers (especially with qpa headers now
being private) and have no compatibility requirements, so it makes sense
to just use the privates of requested modules.

this also suppresses the useless warning about using privates, in case
they are still explicitly specified.
