Volker Hilsheimer 601dbd6499 Add variadic template overloads for QJniObject/Environment methods
This allows the compiler to deduce the template arguments based on the
provided method parameters, which we can then pass to the methodSignature
and fieldSignature helpers to generate the signature string completely at
compile time.

Since we can't partially specialize template member functions, replace
the specializations for void methods with compile-time-if branches in
the general templates.

This variadic template now prevents implicit conversion from the
LiteralStorage types to const char* signatures, so catch the case where
such a type ends up in the parameter list.

Due to overload resolution rules for constructors, we need to explicitly
disable the constructor if any of the arguments is a string literal type,
as we have to keep the old C-style variadic function working for such
calls.

Add variations that use the variadic templates to the unit tests.

Fabian Kosmale 4e7f92bf0d QMetaType: Fix normalization on MSVC if name contains enum
During type normalization, we remove the struct, class and enum
keywords (see the skipStructClassOrEnum function). However, we only want
to do that for actual keywords, not for a name that happens to start
with e.g. "enum", as in "enumerationNameSpacce".
Adjust the MSVC check to still require no identifier character after the
keyword, while still allowing for some remaining characters.

Thiago Macieira 20104bb237 Remove remnants of the old Intel C++ compiler
We don't support it any more. I don't think it has ever properly
compiled Qt 6 (and it's no longer working for me against GCC 12's
libstdc++ headers). If you report a bug against it, Intel support's
first question is if you can try instead the new Clang/LLVM-based oneAPI
C++ compiler.

So we support only that one, which identifies itself as Q_CC_CLANG.

Volker Hilsheimer a085a14d76 Generate JNI signature strings at compile time
Introduce an internal QtJniTypes namespace with types that allow us to
concatenate string literals at compile time. This makes it possible to
generate arbitrary strings based on types, which we can then use as
signatures to JNI method calls.

Move some of the private members of QJniObject into the QtJniTypes
namespace for consistency, and to allow further template specialization
by user code to make other types and their JNI signature string known.
Remove the "Jni" prefix from names.

Use the compile-time generated string in QJniObject methods that created
the signature string at runtime, which involved a temporary memory
allocation.

Treat 'void' as a primitive type (with signature string 'V'), and
remove redundant template specializations.

Add a test case to verify the the strings are constructed correctly
at compile time.

- use qUtf16Printable() to avoid funneling UTF-16 data through 8-bit

- use a C++11 ranged for instead of a counted loop

- remove a pointless isEmpty() guard (the loop won't execute when the

Fabian Kosmale ba6c1d2785 QProperty: fix threading issues
QObject's cache the binding status pointer to avoid TLS lookups.
However, when an object is moved to a different thread, we need to
update the cached pointer (as the original thread might stop and thus no
longer exist, and to correctly allow setting up bindings in the object's
thread).
Fix this by also storing the binding status in QThreadPrivate and
updating the object's binding status when moved. This does only work
when the thread is already running, though. If it is not running, we
instead treat the QThreadPrivate's status pointer as a pointer to a
vector of pending objects. Once the QThread has been started, we check
if there are pending objects, and update them at this point.

We set the wakeUps atomic to prevent multiple WM_QT_SENDPOSTEDEVENTS from
being posted. However, this might happen right after the event processing
thread cleared the atomic, but before it processed the previous
WM_QT_SENDPOSTEDEVENTS message. In that case, we end up with a set
atomic and an empty event queue, resulting in the event loop to block
even though there are posted QEvents.

To prevent that, always reset the atomic when we handle the
WM_QT_SENDPOSTEDEVENTS message. In that case, we either call
sendPostedEvents, or startPostedEventsTimer. The former already resets
wakeUps; reset it in the latter as well.

Marc Mutz 58058794b1 tst_qmetatype: fix memleaks
We didn't delete the new'ed up QMetaTypeInterfaces, causing asan to
complain.

Fix by storing them in strong references alongside their users in a
statically-allocated container.

We use shared_ptr to hold them, because QMetaTypeInterface doesn't
have a virtual destructor, so deleting objects of the TypeInfo types
(plural!) derived from QMetaTypeInterface though a pointer to the base
class is UB. The shared_ptr constructor, however, is templated, so it
stores the correct call (~TypeInfo()) in its type-erased deleter.

We can't use std::make_shared(), because that doesn't support
aggregate initialization until C++20, so we manually new up the
TypeInfos.

5.15 is not affected.

The PRINT_2ARD_TEMPLATE macro expansion alone is responsible for about

factoring it into its own TU, we reduce the maximum memory load on my

This is a quick-fix for the QNX build problems currently plaguing the

Thiago Macieira 0e72a846d3 QObject: Q_ASSERT the object type before calling a PMF
The old-syle signal-slot syntax had the advantage of not delivering
signals to slots in derived classes after that derived class's
destructor had finished running (because we called via the virtual
qt_metacall). The new syntax made no checks, so a conversion from the
old to the new syntax may introduce crashes or other data corruptions at
runtime if the destructor had completed.

This commit introduces a Q_ASSERT to print the class name that the
object is not any more. Since this is in inline code, this should get
enabled for users' debug modes and does not therefore depend on Qt being
built in debug mode.

It required some Private classes to be adapted to the new form, by
exposing the public q_func() in the public: part.

Marc Mutz 2b50c8bec0 QObject: optimize the common case of findChildren(QString())
Outside tests, all in-tree callers of QObject::findChildren() pass no
name to match, and in my experience that is also true for the vast
majority of out-of-tree users.

Avoid the temporary QString creation in the caller and the repeated
QString::isNull() checks in the implementation by overloading
findChildren() without a name argument and checking for name.isNull()
only once, forking off into separate helper functions.

Adjust in-tree callers that used an explicit `QString()` argument in
order to pass options, which goes to show that `name` should never
have been the first argument of findChilden() in the first place, even
though I appreciate the symmetry with findChild() (the use-cases of
which, however, are radically different).

Change a `findChildren().size() == 0` call found while scanning for
findChildren() calls to `!findChild()` as a drive-by.

Modernize loops in the various qt_qFindChild{,ren}_helper() overloads
to match how the new code looks.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QObject] Added findChildren() overload taking no
name (thus optimizing this common case).

Tor Arne Vestbø 9661cde161 Apple: Use POSIX IPC instead of System V in sandboxed applications
System V semaphores are not supported in sandboxed applications,
so when Qt is configured with App Store compliance, or the user
requests POSIX IPC explicitly, we use that instead.

https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/Security/Conceptual/AppSandboxDesignGuide/AppSandboxInDepth/AppSandboxInDepth.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40011183-CH3-SW24

As the shared memory name limit on Apple platforms is very low,
we have to skip the existing logic for naming, and instead use
a truncated hash of the key. This should still be fine for
avoiding any collisions in practice.

An explicit check for the ENAMETOOLONG error has been added to
catch any cases where they key goes beyond the allowed length.

Sandboxed applications also have an extra requirement that the
key must include an application group identifier. This requirement
has been pushed up to the user and documented, as we don't have
enough information in Qt to know which identifier to use.

Both tst_QSystemSemaphore and tst_QSharedMemory work as before
with both sandboxed and non-sandboxed applications, after removing
some assumptions in tst_QSharedMemory about System V behavior.

Do a quick check whether the type name contains an anonymous type. If
so, do not try to use optimized version. The simple check should still
be faster than calling normalizeType unconditionally.

Also only apply the faster version for clang and gcc, instead of all
non-MSVC compilers. Applying it to other compilers would require further
testing to handle anonymous structs.

Moreover, remove space before '(', which is necessary for function

Lars Knoll 6c1a9f2b4d Simplify storing of notification objects
QPropertyChangeHandler is a templated class and it's argument is
a functor. That makes it inherently cumbersome to use the class
in any context where the change handler needs to be stored.

Introduce a QPropertyNotifier class that stores the functor
in a std::function<void()>, and add a QProperty::addNotifier()
method that can be used instead of onValueChanged().

Also make QPropertyNotifier default constructible.

This significantly simplifies the code that needs to be written
and makes it possible to store notifications as class members
without major hassle.

Fabian Kosmale 5b681bea90 QPropertyBinding: Do not reevaluate if not installed on property
Since we changed binding evaluation to be always eager, we notify and
evaluate all bindings as soon as any dependency changes. This includes
bindings which have been initially installed on a property, but which
were later removed.
With lazy evaluation, we would only notify those bindings and mark them
as dirty, which is unproblematic. With eager evalution, we attempt to
evaluate the binding, though. While that part is still fine, afterwards
we would attempt to write the new value into the property. However,
there is no property at that point, as the binding is not installed.
Instead of adding a check whether the propertydataptr is null, we skip
the reevaluation completely by removing the bindings observers - and
thus the cause for the binding function's reevaluation. As soon as the
binding is set, we reevaluate the function anyway, at which point we
also capture the observers again.
