QFile::copy was assuming that the target file was native and therefore
it could simply take the file descriptor to clone. While that was not
currently a problem, in theory it could be as we do have one writeable

By refactoring to take the parameter as a QAbstractFileEngine, we can

The problem happens when an application like Kate (actually, ktexteditor)
uses QSaveFile to save files. So if you open a secretfile.txt file (with
permissions 0600), edit and save it, then QSaveFile currently
generates a temporary file with 0666 that afterwards gets chmod'ed to
0600 again, but in between, some other user in the system can open the
temporary file and get a file descriptor that would allow him/her to read
the contents of a file with 0600 permissions.

In the past, we had an undocumented text flag that worked with
one of the QPainter::drawText() overloads. This was never intended
as public API and served a specific cause in Qt WebKit at one point.
But there is a general need for such API, as disabling shaping features
easily gives 25% performance improvement on text rendering even for
fairly short strings.
This patch adds a new style strategy flag to disable shaping and
will just uses the CMAP and HDMX tables to get glyph indices and advances
for the characters. In Qt 6, the TextBypassShaping flag can be removed
completely and be replaced by the style strategy.

MSVC warns about iterators being passed to certain Standard Library
algorithms. dbd55cdaf3 introduced
a usa of std::is_permutation in a public header, which is causing
such a warning to be emitted.
To suppress the warning, Microsoft suggests to either use the 4-arg
std::is_permutation overload (which however is not available
in MSVC 2013) or to use a Standard Library extension, which we are
already using elsewhere in Qt to deal with the same problem. However,
that extension requires the iterator to be moved by size_t quantities,
which isn't the case for QHash::iterator, and therefore generates
more warnings about loss of precision (size_t -> int).
Therefore, go with the 4-arg std::is_permutation, only on MSVC >= 2015.

The native APIs don't support previous transition, only next after a
stipulated date. The prior code started its search at the epoch; if
used for a time before the first transition after the epoch, this
found no transitions so returned invalid data, when the last
transition before the epoch would have been suitable. It also wound
through all transitions since the epoch, on its way to the selected
time, which was potentially laborious.
Instead, start a year before the stipulated time; this should get a
transition if the zone uses DST. If it doesn't, start with the first
known transition and binary-chop our way to one within a year of the
last before the stipulated time; then wind forward one transition at a
time, as before. The chopping is actually faster than binary: each
time we find a transition after the interval mid-point but early
enough, we move the early end of our interval to the transition, which
is later than the old interval's middle. Using halving, starting with
a vast interval, should thus only incur modest cost, while ensuring we
give up early when no transition data is available at all or the
zone's first transition ever was after the stipulated time.

for systems where the pipe2(), dup3(), and accept4() functions are
declared in the libc headers but fail at runtime. On Linux, O_CLOEXEC
was added before accept4(), so if the latter is supported, the former is
too. On the BSDs, the libc headers are updated in lockstep with the
kernel, so we know for sure.
There are still systems that have O_CLOEXEC (a POSIX.1-2008 flag) but
not the extra functions (Solaris and Darwin). Solaris libc must update
like the BSDs, but on Darwin we do build with a new SDK targeting an
old OS. Fortunately, O_CLOEXEC has been supported since 10.7, so we're
out of the woods.

Second, add Q_DECL_NOTHROW to it. It can't throw, but it terminates

Third, don't use QMessageLogger, since that allocates memory and

The getentropy function, first found in OpenBSD, is present in glibc
since version 2.25 and Bionic since Android 6.0 and NDK r11. It uses the
Linux 3.17 getrandom system call. Unlike glibc's getrandom() wrapper,
the glibc implementation of getentropy() function is not a POSIX thread
cancellation point, so we prefer to use that even though we have to
break the reading into 256-byte blocks.
The big advantage is that these functions work even in the absence of a
/dev/urandom device node, in addition to a few cycles shaved off by not
having to open a file descriptor and close it at exit. What's more, the
glibc implementation blocks until entropy is available on early boot, so
we don't have to worry about a failure mode. The Bionic implementation
will fall back by itself to /dev/urandom and, failing that, gathering
entropy from elsewhere in the system in a way it cannot fail either.
uClibc has a wrapper to getrandom(2) but no getentropy(3). MUSL has
neither.

to valgrind any applications, as the current version (3.12) does not

The Linux kernel gives us 16 bytes of random data and sets a pointer to
it in the ELF AuxV (the same one that allows us to get HWCAP on ARM
systems). So if we end up in the fallback generator, at leat we'll get a
good amount of entropy to seed the Mersenne Twister.
This could happen if the application is run in a chroot(2) or container
without /dev/random or /dev/urandom. That is probably an installation
mistake, so we don't optimize this case for performance.
With this commit, we have now good, high-quality fallbacks for Windows
(rand_s), for BSDs (arc4random) and for Linux. The only missing,
supported OS without a good entropy source is QNX.

If we've never read any samples from hardware RNG or from /dev/urandom,
then there are no stored samples for us to seed the Mersenne Twister. In
that case, attempt to obtain an emergency sample that consists of some
random bits from the variable addresses (ASLR should help) and from the
clock (using nanosecond quality, instead of seconds).
There's still the possibility that we'll get poor entropy: very close to
boot, if the kernel entropy pool is empty, ASLR could be poor and the
monotonic clock value could be consistent from boot to boot. There's
nothing we can do about that.

First and most importantly, let's not use more than half of the template
for the application's PID. With over 71% of all PIDs on a typical Linux
system and 90% of those on a Darwin system having 5 decimal digits,
using them all in a template that is usually 6 characters long is
wasteful. That leaves only 1 character for the random part, thereby
reducing the number of temporary files possible to only 52. So limit the
PID to half the characters of the template.
Second, let's use QRandomGenerator::bounded to create the the random

This class provides a reasonably-secure random number generator that
does not need seeding. That is quite unlike qrand(), which requires a
seed and is low-quality (definitely not secure).
This class is also like std::random_device, but better. It provides an
operator() like std::random_device, but unlike that, it also provides a
way to fill a buffer with random data, not just one 32-bit quantity.
It's also stateless.
Finally, it also implements std::seed_seq-like generate(). It obeys the
standard requirement of the range (32-bit) but not that of the algorithm
(if you wanted that, you'd use std::seed_seq itself). Instead,
generate() fills with pure random data.

QTimeZone("UTC") should be valid, as "UTC" appears in the list of
availableTimeZoneIds(), and tst_QTimeZone::dataStreamTest() constructs
timezones like this, which are considered valid.
The internal representation of a QTimeZone("UTC") as created by
QTimeZone::QTimeZone(const QByteArray &ianaId) is a QUtcTimeZonePrivate
which isValid(), so the containing QTimeZone isValid() too.
When QTimeZone is serialized into a QDataStream, it calls
tz.d->serialize(ds) which is QUtcTimeZonePrivate::serialize. This
writes QStringLiteral("OffsetFromUtc") followed by the IANA ID and
the offset (etc.) to the datastream.
When QTimeZone is deserialized it looks for this marker string, and if
present, it passed all of the parameters to the QTimeZone constructor
(not just the name). However, that constructor does not support standard
IANA timezones (only custom ones), and when it detects that the supplied
IANA ID is actually listed in availableTimeZoneIds(), it leaves the
pointer to the QTimeZonePrivate uninitialized (NULL), which leaves
the QTimeZone invalid (isValid() returns false).
Thus, a valid timezone which was serialized and then deserialized has
become invalid. This also affects serialization of QDateTimes with
timezones.
Fixed by calling the name-only constructor first, which works (only) for
IANA standard timezones and leaves the QTimeZone invalid (isValid()
returns false) otherwise. In which case, we can call the many-argument
contructor to create a custom timezone with the same offset as the one
which was originally serialized.
[ChangeLog][QtCore][QTimeZone] Fixed sending IANA standard UTC-offset
QTimeZones through QDataStream, which previously came out invalid after
deserialization.
