Marc Mutz 78f8dfc542 QBitArray: avoid overflow in storage-to-size calculations
Unlike other containers, a QBitArray's size() is not limited by
storage, but, esp. on 32-bit platforms, its size_type: A INT_MAX
size() QBitArray only requires 256MiB of storage.

So we can't rely on "won't happen in practice" here and need to avoid
the potential UB (signed overflow) in the (d.size() * 8 - *d.data())
storage-to-logical-size calculation by using unsigned arithmetic.

Use the opportunity to Extract Method adjust_head_and_tail(),
centralizing the bit fiddling.

Thiago Macieira 948fa2a427 QBitArray: add mutation operators taking rvalue QBitArrays
Because we may be able to use the other side's storage and apply the
operation in-place. We reuse the storage of the one that can be
detached: even if we have to grow the buffer, QBitArrays are usually
small so there's a good chance it's just to the extra space QArrayData
usually overallocates or a simple, non-moving realloc().

Disassembly with GCC 13 and Clang 17 show the vectorisers did kick in
for all four functions (inverted_inplace included). I think a
hand-rolled version could squeeze a few more cycles, especially in the
tail section, but I don't consider its maintenance cost to be worth it.

Thiago Macieira 8739963c81 QBitArray: fix GCC 13 warnings by improving code
GCC 13 has been complaining that QBitArray could be accessing past the
end of an array (specifically, the 1-element array QByteArray::_empty).
That's caused by the 'QByteArray::data() const' being:

 #if QT5_NULL_STRINGS == 1
     return d.data() ? d.data() : &_empty;
 #else
     return d.data();
 #endif

A way to avoid this is to use operator[], which doesn't attempt to hide
null pointers (it has an assertion).

This is accomplished by writing nicer, more readable code, which is a
nice benefit.

Thiago Macieira e9c9e9225c QVariant: make many more QtCore types nothrow-copyable
All of those are implicitly-shared Qt data types whose copy constructors
can't throw and have wide contracts (there aren't even any assertions
for validity in any of them). These are all types with a QVariant
implicit constructor, except for QCborValue, which is updated on this
list so QJsonValue (which has a QVariant constructor) is also
legitimately noexcept.

To ensure we haven't made a mistake, the Private constructor checks
again.

Marc Mutz b1b0c2970e QtCore: replace qSwap with std::swap/member-swap where possible
qSwap() is a monster that looks for ADL overloads of swap() and also
detects the noexcept of the wrapped swap() function, so it should only
be used when the argument type is unknown. In the vast majority of
cases, the type is known to be efficiently std::swap()able or to have
a member-swap. Call either of these.

For the common case of pointer types, circumvent the expensive trait
checks on std::swap() by providing a hand-rolled qt_ptr_swap()
template, the advantage being that it can be unconditionally noexcept,
removing all type traits instantiations. Don't document it, otherwise
we'd be unable to pick it to 6.2.

Effects on Clang -ftime-trace of a PCH'ed libQt6Gui.so build:

before:

  **** Template sets that took longest to instantiate:
   [...]
   27766 ms: qSwap<$> (9073 times, avg 3 ms)
   [...]
    2806 ms: std::swap<$> (1229 times, avg 2 ms)

   (30572ms)

after:

  **** Template sets that took longest to instantiate:
   [...]
   5047 ms: qSwap<$> (641 times, avg 7 ms)
   [...]
   3371 ms: std::swap<$> (1376 times, avg 2 ms)
   [qt_ptr_swap<$> does not appear in the top 400, so < 905ms]

   (< 9323ms)

As a drive-by, remove superfluous inline keywords and template
ornaments.

Giuseppe D'Angelo 889d40ebe2 Centralize the implementation of move assignment operators
At the moment we have two main strategies for dealing with move
assignment in Qt:

1) move-and-swap, used by "containers" (in the broad sense): containers,
but also smart pointers and similar classes that can hold user-defined
types;

2) pure swap, used by containers that hold only memory (e.g. QString,
QByteArray, ...) as well as most implicitly shared datatypes.

Given the fact that a move assignment operator's code is just
boilerplate (whether it's move-and-swap or pure swap), provide two
_strictly internal_ macros to help write them, and apply the macros
across corelib and gui, porting away from the hand-rolled
implementations.

The rule of thumb when porting to the new macros is:

* Try to stick to the existing code behavior, unless broken

* if changing, then follow this checklist:

  * if the class does not have a move constructor => pure swap
    (but consider ADDING a move constructor, if possible!)

  * if the class does have a move constructor, try to follow the
     criteria above, namely:

    * if the class holds only memory, pure swap;

    * if the class may hold anything else but memory (file handles,
      etc.), then move and swap.

Noteworthy details:

* some operators planned to be removed in Qt 6 were not ported;

* as drive-by, some move constructors were simplified to be using
qExchange(); others were outright broken and got fixed;

* some contained some more interesting code and were not touched.

And remove the old manual registration code for those operators.

Add some special handling for long/ulong, as these types could be
streamed as a QVariant so far, but are not directly streamable
through QDataStream.

[ChangeLog][QtCore][QMetaType] The QMetaType::registerStreamOperators()
and QMetaType::registerDebugStreamOperator() methods have been
removed. The streaming operators for a type are now automatically
registered together with the type registration. This implies that the
operators should be visible wherever the type is visible and being used.

[ChangeLog][Behavior Incompatible Changes] Because the QDataStream and
QDebug serialization operators are automatically registered with
QMetaType, the declarations of those functions must be present at any
point where the type is used with QMetaType and QVariant.

Christian Kandeler 8e90e0805f Prevent an overflow warning in assertions.
Functions like QByteArray::at() assert the given index:
    Q_ASSERT(i >= 0 && i < size();
These functions typically get inlined. Now if the index is
e.g. size() - 2, then gcc will emit an ugly warning in
client code ("assuming signed overflow does not occur when assuming
that (X - c) > X is always false").
This can be easily prevented by casting both sides of the second
comparison in the assertion to their unsigned type. The explicit
comparison to zero is then no longer necessary, since that condition
is tested implicitly by the other comparison due to unsigned arithmetic.

Giuseppe D'Angelo 9a77171ccc QHash security fix (1.5/2): qHash two arguments overload support
Algorithmic complexity attacks against hash tables have been known
since 2003 (cf. [1, 2]), and they have been left unpatched for years
until the 2011 attacks [3] against many libraries /
(reference) implementations of programming languages.

This patch adds a qHash overload taking two arguments: the value to
be hashed, and a uint to be used as a seed for the hash function
itself (support the global QHash seed was added in a previous patch).
The seed itself is not used just yet; instead, 0 is passed.

Compatibility with the one-argument qHash(T) implementation is kept
through a catch-all template.

Jason McDonald 5635823e17 Remove "All rights reserved" line from license headers.
As in the past, to avoid rewriting various autotests that contain
line-number information, an extra blank line has been inserted at the
end of the license text to ensure that this commit does not change the
total number of lines in the license header.

These defines were there to aid in the commercial
licensing scheme we used long ago, and are no longer needed.

Keep a QT_MODULE(x) define so other modules continue compiling.
