Thiago Macieira 264d814773 Fix GCC warning about dereferencing type-punned pointers
GCC is wrong. Type-punning is when you read something of a given
type as something else. We're not doing that, as it's only read
as integer.

 qnativesocketengine_unix.cpp:1011:79: error: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules [-Werror=strict-aliasing]

Too bad my plan for a good C++ solution was foiled by glibc
developers.

Timur Pocheptsov 5377f4ec0e Allow Secure Transport backend to use a temporary keychain
Cherry picked:

this change was first merged into dev, but now we also need it in 5.9
to enable SSL socket tests on the new CI VMs (macOS 10.11, 10.12).
As we do not merge dev->5.9, we need this cherry-pick.

Since day one Secure Transport socket has two annoying problems on macOS:
when we call SecPKCS12Import, we indeed import certs and keys into the default keychain
and also (which is more serious) later a dialog can pop up, asking for permission
to use a private key (this is especially annoying if you're running SSL autotests or
have a server application). Apparently, it's possible to work around those problems
if we create our own (temporary) keychain and pass it in the 'options' parameter
to SecPKCS12Import.

[ChangeLog][QtNetwork] Allow QSslSocket to use a temporary keychain on macOS.

Secure Transport supports more ciphers then we can convert into QSslCipher.
This results in our tests failing, since after the successful SSL handshake

to make new cipher addition easier in future, sorts cipher suites as it's done

in + sorted within their group.

As a bonus (thanks to Eddy for spotting this problem) - some copy & paste (?)
typos were fixed (mismatched names).

Timur Pocheptsov 8b9d246225 QHttpNetworkConnection: fall back gracefully to HTTP/1.1
Both SPDY and HTTP/2 work with a single qhttpnetworkchannel (and this means one
socket per qhttpnetworkconnection). Normally, HTTP/1.1 connection is using up to 6
channels/sockets though. At the moment a failure to negotiate SPDY/HTTP/2 leaves us
with a downgraded HTTP/1.1 connection (with only one channel vs. default 6).
Since we initialize channels (and establish connections) in a 'lazy' manner
it's ok to pre-allocate all 6 channels and then either use 1 (if SPDY/HTTP/2
indeed was negotiated) or switch back to 6 in case of failure.

Cédric Cabessa f971a0d65c Fix proxy when changing only the password
QHttpThreadDelegate doesn't take into account the password to compute the
key of the networkconnection hash. So if only the password for a proxy has
changed, the wrong data gets used for the connection.

This patch simply adds proxy->password() to the key.

Here are the steps to reproduce the bug:
 * Use an authentified proxy and provide the correct username but a wrong
password

```
 QNetworkAccessManager networkAccessManager;
 QNetworkProxy proxy(QNetworkProxy::HttpProxy, PROXY_HOST, PROXY_PORT,
                     "goodusername", "badpassword");
 networkAccessManager.setProxy(proxy);
``
 * As expected, the reply returns ProxyAuthenticationRequiredError
 * Using the same QNetworkAccessManager, setup a new proxy with the
correct credential:
```
 QNetworkProxy proxy(QNetworkProxy::HttpProxy, PROXY_HOST, PROXY_PORT,
                     "goodusername", "goodpassword");
 networkAccessManager.setProxy(proxy);
```
 * The reply still returns ProxyAuthenticationRequiredError
[ChangeLog][QtNetwork] Fix proxy-authentication issue, after a wrong password
has been used, when supplying the right password.
Timur Pocheptsov de225ccdf9 QNetworkSession - register types before connecting slots
QNetworkSession's ctor has a race condition: it 1) connects signals/slots
and also 2) registers meta-types (but after these connects). Our users apparently
have a lot of per-thread QNAMs in multiple threads (and implicitly
many QNetworkSessions on different threads too). From error logs it appears
that while one thread tries to connect signals/slots and evaluates the types
of signal and slot arguments, another thread can register this type.
If the first thread extracted signal argument types, then the second
registered this type, we can end up in a 'type mismatch' error on the first
thread with seemingly the same types in a debug message (something like
"type mismatch A::Some <-> A::Some") - they have the same name, but one
has type() == 0 and another - some non-zero type().
Now we call qRegisterMetaType before connect.
Timur Pocheptsov dbb2374d20 Workaround the broken 'OPENSSL_config' (Windows)
In old versions of OpenSSL this function can try to access a config file
sometimes resulting in EACCES. While handling ENOENT correctly, OPENSSL_config
unconditionally calls std::exit on EACCES, which is unacceptable, especially if we
have a Qt-app which is not using SSL at all (but, for example, is using QNAM).
To workaround this, we pre-test if this file can be opened and if not and the
last error is ERR_R_SYS_LIB we just skip q_OPENSSL_add_all_algorithms call.
Since day one Secure Transport socket has two annoying problems on macOS:
when we call SecPKCS12Import, we indeed import certs and keys into the default keychain
and also (which is more serious) later a dialog can pop up, asking for permission
to use a private key (this is especially annoying if you're running SSL autotests or
have a server application). Apparently, it's possible to work around those problems
if we create our own (temporary) keychain and pass it in the 'options' parameter
to SecPKCS12Import.
It was first introduced when we had to work-around old macOS SDK (<= 10.7) with
missing API; so we split the original code into two functions, one for
iOS (any supported version) and macOS > 10.7, another function (with all
ifdefs needed and old, deprecated API usage) for macOS <= 10.7. Now that
support for those versions was dropped and the second function gone, having
the remaining code in some external function looks illogical. It can be moved
into the member-function back.
Timur Pocheptsov 20f7cfcbda qnetworkproxy_mac - fix proxyAutoConfigCallback
We have an invalid pointer dereference in our callback.
Apple's docs are quite ambiguous, whatever we receive in our callback's
'client' parameter is our PACInfo, not clientContext's address.
That's what we pass to CFNetworkExecuteProxyAutoConfigurationURL:
"clientContext - A stream context containing a client info object and optionally
retain and release callbacks for that object."
This 'client info' is our PACInfo struct with 2 pointers.
Now in a callback, 'client':
"The client reference originally passed in the clientContext
parameter of the ..."
So apparently we should read this as "client info originally passed in ...."
Otherwise incorrect cast results in invalid pointer (apparently
the value of retain/release/copy pointers we carefully set to 0)
and a crash on dereference.
This patch changes the way we ensure NoLessSafeRedirectsPolicy and
also the way we create actual redirect requests: https->http redirect
is now reported as InsecureRedirectError (under NoLessSafeRedirectsPolicy)
only if STS is disabled or we were redirected to a host whithout Strict
Transport Security policy.
Otherwise, we replace 'http' scheme with 'https' and explicitly set port
80 with port 443 as defined by HTTP Strict Transport Security policy.
This scheme/port replacement will affect both NoLessSafeRedirectsPolicy
and UserVerifiedRedirectsPolicy (SameOriginRedirectsPolicy does not allow
any scheme change and we continue to report such redirects as
InsecureRedirectError).
Timur Pocheptsov d2758b2f1d Refactor HSTS cache implementation
The original monstrosity is not needed at all. It was born only to implement
RFC6797's description of the host matching algorithm (starting from superdomains
and moving to subdomains). Actually, it does not really matter how we find
known host - it can be a congruent match first instead, and then we proceed
with superdomains. This way I can use QMap and my tests so far show it actually
works faster (both insertion and lookup), also the code is cleaner now.
Also, introduce the new class QHstsPolicy that essentially allows to mark
a host as known host and conveniently encapsulates host name/expiration date/
subdomains policy.
Add a public API providing access to HSTS policies, so that client code
can pre-set or read back discovered known hosts (to implement persistent
HSTS storage, for example).
We support server-driven HSTS - this means client code is allowed to provide
policies as hints to QNetworkAccessManager, but these policies can be
overridden by HTTP responses with 'Strict-Transport-Security' headers.
Timur Pocheptsov 83f4f9b401 Add HTTP strict tranport security support to QNAM
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) is a web security policy that
allows a web server to declare that user agents should only interact
with it using secure HTTPS connections. HSTS is described by RFC6797.
This patch introduces a new API in Network Access Manager to enable
this policy or disable it (default - STS is disabled).
We also implement QHstsCache which caches known HTTS hosts, does
host name lookup and domain name matching; QHstsHeaderParser to
parse HSTS headers with HSTS policies.
A new autotest added to test the caching, host name matching
and headers parsing.
Giuseppe D'Angelo a6cdfacf8d QHostAddress: make it implictly shared
QHostAddress is one of the few classes in Qt which is pimpl'd but not
implictly shared, making it suprisingly expensive to copy around, return
by value and so on. Being pimpl'd it is also still lacking a move
constructor, like most of such types in Qt.
Remove a bit of the surprise factor and make it implictly shared. In
practice this means making it eagerly parse host addresses from strings.
Since it was entirely implemented out of line, replacing it with a
implictly shared implementation is binary compatible.
[ChangeLog][QtNetwork][QHostAddress] QHostAddress is now implicitly
shared.
Mikkel Krautz 19a1a0871d QSslDiffieHellmanParameters: simplify defaultParameters() construction
This commit simplifies defaultParameters() to simply construct an empty
QSslDiffieHellmanParameters and assigning the DER-form of the DH parameters
to QSslDiffieHellmanParametersPrivate's derData field.
This creates a valid QSslDiffieHellmanParameters instance, but skips any
potentially expensive verification steps.
The previous implementation of defaultParameters() would use the public
fromEncoded() method to construct an instance of the default parameters.
This triggers a verification of the passed-in data, which can be expensive.
To ensure our defaultParameters() QSslDiffieHellmanParameters instance does
pass verification, this commit adds an autotest to verify that.
Fixes QTBUG-57815.
The policies we support at the moment:
a. Manual - that's what we always had - it's up to a user to handle
b. NoLessSafeRedirectsPolicy - we allow http->http, http->https and
c. SameOriginPolicy - we check that protocol/host/port are
Edward Welbourne 556b2ee773 Network (HTTPS): prevent recursion among ->close() methods
We observed a stack-trace in which, while handling an error,
QHttpNetworkConnectionChannel::close()'s call to its socket->close()
triggered (when the socket was a QSslSocket) a flush() which asked its
backend to transmit() which tripped over the original error, which
duly triggered endless recursion.  Transiently clear the socket
member, during its ->close(), to prevent this; do the same in abort(),
to preserve its structural correspondence to close().  Restructure
both so that any recursive call's setting of state is overwritten by
the top-level call's, while this still uses the prior socket state
(not the state after close() or abort() and any recursion) to
determine final state.
qHash(QHostAddress) was added in Qt 5.0 (at least the version with uint seed = 0).
op==(QHostAddress::SpecialAddress, QHostAddress) was there since QHostAddress was
added before public history. Since QHostAddress does not have a \since, the I did
not supply one for op==, either.
Since the equality operator did not have unit-tests, added one.
- Http network connection channel never resets a protocolHandler in _q_encrypted/
_q_encrypted or _q_connected (https/http).
Thiago Macieira 7c402ad3d1 Make the bearer QFactoryLoader a member variable, not a static
Because it was a function-level static, the QFactoryLoader was getting
destroyed out-of-sync with the bearer thread stopping. Under normal
conditions, the thread stopped first (~QApplication / ~QCoreApplication
via qAddPostRoutine), and the static got destroyed when the process
exited. However, if QApplication leaked or if the destruction order is
wonky (as seen in PyQt5), the thread could still be running when the
plugins were already unloaded.
With the loader a member variable, it gets destroyed when the thread
stops.
Note: in Qt 5.7, QFactoryLoader no longer unloads the plugins (since
commit 494376f980), so this crash cannot
happen in that version.
[ChangeLog][QtNetwork][Bearer management] Fixed a bug that could cause a
crash on application exit, depending on the order of destruction of the
QCoreApplication object and the QtDBus manager thread.
Marc Mutz 4077fcc615 QHostAddress: fix assignment operators
QHostAddress allowed assignment from a QString, but the respective
constructor is explicit, and rightfully so. So it does not make
sense that the assignment operator is provided, because of the
asymmetry caused between
   QHostAddress addr = funcReturningQString(); // ERROR
   addr              = funcReturningQString(); // OK (until now)
By the same token, since SpecialAddress is implicitly convertible
to QHostAddress, provide the missing assignment operator from that
enum.
Add tests, rewriting the _data() function to use the enum instead
of an int to pass SpecialAddress values, and to test !=, too.
Added setAddress(SpecialAddress), since a) it was missing and
b) to share code between the ctor and the assignment operator.
Oliver Wolff 14ea8759da winrt: Change the way tcp packets are handled
Similar to the way datagrams are handled for udp sockets the worker now
takes care of tcp data. Thus we avoid race conditions which stopped data
processing. It could happen that data was read from the socket into the
buffer and before readyRead was emitted the buffer was completely read.
In this case readNotification is set to false and no new data is processed
afterwards.
Additionally the buffer was replaced by a vector of QByteArray. The buffer
kept growing and was never cleared (and there is no obvious way for
clearing the buffer), so that an overflow happened eventually.
pendingReadOperations (and its mutex) could be removed as well. There is
only one situation where they could clash and that's the initial read.
Having two members is preferred over having a list of operations and a
mutex.
Timur Pocheptsov 4f959b6b30 ~QHttpNetworkConnectionPrivate - disconnect from socket's signals
We have a 'channel' object connected to a socket with Qt::DirectConnection.
QHttpNetworkConnectionPrivate in its dtor (note, it's a private object destroyed
after its 'q' - QHttpNetworkConnection - was destroyed) calls socket->close()
and this can end up in socket setting an error and emitting (for example, in
QSslSocket::transmit). The slot (QHttpNetworkConnectionChannel::_q_error) will
access the now-dead/non-existing connection then. So disconnect the channel
from the socket early, before closing the socket.
