Marc Mutz cf9d112d7a qlalr: remove uses of inefficient QLists
For QList<QLinkedList<T>::iterator>, mark the iterator Q_PRIMITIVE_TYPE.
This should be done in Qt itself, but would be binary incompatible.

For two other types that are used as values in QMultiMap, replaced
   foreach (x, map.values(y))
with
   auto range = map.equal_range(y);
   for (auto it = range.first; it != ramge.second; ++it)
       x = *it;
which doesn't require a temporary QList.

Marc Mutz 2c26d519e2 moc: simplify finding required Qt containers
The old code searched for any Qt containers by looking at
- each class definition
  - each property's type
  - each function (signal, slot, method)
    - each argument type
and matching each against "Container<", building
the pattern string each time through the loop.

It would then collect hits in a QSet to be converted
to a QList and sorted at the very end.

The new code pulls the iteration over the candidates
out of all other loops. By doing so, it can stop
looking at classes, properties, functions etc when
it finds the first hit, and it inserts every candidate
at most once.

By iterating over the statically-known list of
candidates, the result is not a sorted set of Qt
containers, as before, but it still has s fixed order
across runs, which was the purpose of the sorting in
the original code.

In the implementation, make liberal use of C++11
range-for, which is safe, as we're passing everything
around as const.

most includepath-related setup from qt_module_pris.prf was moved to

Marc Mutz 5c81863019 moc: replace a QStack<QByteArray> with std::stack<QByteArray, QByteArrayList>
A QByteArrayList is almost as efficient as a QVector<QByteArray>.
More importantly, the QByteArrayList case can share code with
the myriad of other QByteArrayList users, in particular
because std::stack is but the thinnest of wrappers around
its underlying container.

For moc, saves almost 1KiB in text size on optimized GCC 4.9
Linux AMD64 builds.

For qdbuscpp2xml, which re-uses moc code, saves ~1.6KiB.

Edward Welbourne 1901adbab7 Split two error cases so they get reported distinctly.
If a macro is used with too few parameters, complaining about its
definition using '#' followed by something other than a macro
parameter name is apt to be confusing - reading the definition will
reveal that the name in fact is a macro parameter after all. The
reader needs attention directed to the invocation, not the definition.

Split the test in two: one to test the prior error message does in
fact get produced for an invalid macro definition, the other to test
the invalid invocation case.

Topi Reinio d558100aa7 qdoc: Improve resolving related non-members and their overload numbers
There were several problems related to resolving related non-member
(RNM) functions for classes. This commit does the following changes:

  - Overload numbers for RNMs are now calculated at the time the
\relates command is processed, instead of a separate step.
  - If a \relates refers to an entity outside the module boundary,
write the argument passed to it as-is into the index file.
  - Delay the destruction of QDocIndexFiles singleton, to resolve
the RNMs read from the index files prior to generating docs.
  - Remove the redundant call to normalizeOverloads() for single-
    exec mode as unnecessary.

These changes ensure that all RNMs are listed in the documentation
for the node that they belong to.

A remaining issue is that if a function relates to a class outside
the module boundary, that function documentation will be empty
because the doc content is not stored into the index file (for
obvious reasons). Single-exec mode does not have this problem.

This command can be used in the qdoc comment for
a \module or \qmlmodule to tell qdoc not to write
the automatic annotated list of C++ classes or
QML types to the HTML page because the documenter
has listed them manually. The qdoc manual is also
updated to include the \noautolist command.

Marc Mutz cb60c5c66a qdoc: fix one of the most expensive loops in Qt
QQmlJS::Engine::comments() returns a QList<QQmlJ::AST::SourceLocation> by value.
The QList is horribly inefficient, but that will be topic of a separate patch.

The loop in QmlMarkupVisitor did not store the result of comments() in a local
variable, it called engine->comments() whenever it referenced it, which was
_three_ times per loop iteration. Two of those references applied op[] to
the rvalue engine->comments(), which, being mutable, detaches. _Twice_ per
loop, with a QList that heap-allocates its elements!.

And that was followed by a similar loop.

Fix by using a local const copy of the list to iterate over.

The loop termination condition also looks fishy (j is used to index into
the comments, but is not checked against comments.size()), but apparently
qdoc works fine with it so far, so don't try to fix.

The copy of QQmlJS in QtDeclarative is not affected by this (qdoc-specific
code).

Martin Smith 100ffb60ef qdoc: Teach qdoc to resolve namespaces
It turns out this bug was caused by modularization,
which created the situation where members of the Qt
namespace are in different modules. Most are in QtCore,
but a few are in QtGui.

qdoc was creating a namespace node for the Qt namespace
in the node tree for QtCore, and another namespace node
in the node tree for QtGui. This meant that there were
two NamespaceNodes for the Qt namespace. Correctly, only
one of these nodes contained the text for the \namespace
command for the Qt namespace. This was the namespace node
that was being used to create the HTML reference page for
the Qt namespace.

Unfortunately, the Qt namespace node in the tree for QtGui
was not being merged into the Qt namespace node in QtCore,
so some of the members of the Qt namespace were not being
shown on the reference page.

This update teches qdoc how to merge namespace nodes to
ensure that all the members appear on the reference page
for the namespace. There can be a namespace node for the
namespace xxx in any number of modules, but they will all
be merged into the namespace node for namespace xxx that
contains the qdoc comment for \namespace xxx.

So there is no performance gain in using QMap for this scenario.

QList just serves the purpose of storing the subprojects in a list

Martin Smith 62a2f46d29 qdoc: Support documentation of JavaScript
This update provides the actual support for documenting
JavaScript. It has been tested with JavaScript commands
in qdoc comments in .qdoc files but not in .js files.
Currently, we have the use case of needing to document
JavaScript using qdoc comments in .qdoc files.

For each qdoc command for QML, i.e. \qmltype, \qmlproperty,
etc, there is now a corresponding JavaScript command, i.e.
\jstype, \jsproperty, etc. Some of these might not be needed,
but they are all provided.

Briefly, document JavaScript in a .qdoc file the same way you
would document QML in a .qdoc file, but instead of using the
\qmlxxx commands, use \jsxxx commands.

Martin Smith fe7c2662b5 qdoc: Mark Genus of each Node object
The concept of Genus was introduced to allow link commands
(\l) to specify what kind of entity should be accepted as the
link target. Possible values were CPP, QML, DOC, and DONTCARE.
This became necessary when we started seeing more cases where
the same name was used for a C++ class and a QML type. The
Genus for an entity was returned by a member function of the
specific subclass of Node that represents that entity. For
example, QmlTypeNode::genus() returns QML, while Class::genus()
returns CPP.

Now we are seeing an increasing need to document Javascript.
Rather than add subclasses of all the QmlXxxNode classes to
represent the javascript entities, the Qml Node subclasses
will be used. JS is added to the Genus enum to mark Nodes
that represent javascript entities. But this requires storing
the Genus value in the node, rather than just having a member
function in each subclass return it. Now there are two member
functions in the Node base class, genus() and setGenus(), and
the value is stored in the Node. This doesn't increase the
size, because there was a byte available.

We still have a bunch of Q_WS_ ifdefs in our code, which are easy to

In incremental follow-ups, we can then selectively either remove, or
port, the pieces that are dead code.

Marc Mutz a776e4cf78 uic: don't use QStringLiteral in comparisons
(this is committing the new output of generate_ui from qttools)

For QLatin1String, operator== is overloaded, even for QStringRef,
so comparing to a latin-1 (C) string literal is efficient,
since strlen() is comparatively fast.

OTOH, QStringLiteral, when not using RVO, litters the code with
QString dtor calls, which are not inline. Worse, absent lambdas,
it even allocates memory.

So, just compare using QLatin1String instead.
