In Qt >= 6.1, < 6.5, a trivially constructible type would have the
NeedsDestruction flag set, but it's dtor pointer would have been null.
In Qt 6.5, the meaning of the NeedsDestruction flag was changed to be
more aligned with what the name suggests, and thus would only be set for
non-trivially destructible types. For QMetaType this was fine, but
QVariant has a check for acceptable metatypes which attempts to verify
whether a QMetaType is usable for QVariant. The check assumes the
semantics of Qt 6.5, and thus fails for metatypes created by older Qt
versions.
To fix this issue, we increment the QMetaType revision field, and only
check the metatype's destruction support if the revision is high enough.
In theory, that allows passing unsuitable metatypes from older Qt
versions to QVariant; however, such code would have been broken in prior
Qt releases already (which didn't attempt the check), and no code that
used to work in any released Qt version will break (as we simply skip a
check that was passing before).

Functions in Qt that take a callback need to support callables with or
without context objects, and member functions of an object. The
implementation of those overloads follows a pattern that ultimately
results in a QSlotObjectBase implementation being created and
passed to an implementation helper that takes care of the logic.
Factor that common pattern into a new helper template in QtPrivate
that returns a suitable QSlotObjectBase after checking that the
functor is compatible with the specified argument types.
Use that new helper template in the implementation of
QCoreApplication::requestPermission and QHostInfo::lookupHost.

Avoid capturing the same property multiple times in a binding by
storing them in the BindingEvaluationState. We store them in a

is expected to be rather low, so a linear scan is fine.
Avoiding double capture is a good idea in general, as we would otherwise
needlessly reevaluate bindings multiple times, and also needlessly
allocate memory for further observers, instead of using a binding's
inline observer array.
Even more importantantly, our notification code makes assumptions that
notify will visit bindings only exactly once. Not upholding that

observers allocated by the binding would get freed, even though we would

or slot is executed in the thread of the context object. And if the
context object has been destroyed by the time the permission response
is received, the functor shouldn't be called at all.
To implement this, we either have to plumb the call back through a
signal/slot connection and benefit from QObject's infrastructure. This
is not practical here, as we don't have an "engine QObject" that would
emit a signal.
Instead, we can create a QMetaCallEvent explicitly, following what we do
in e.g. QHostInfo, and using a temporary QObject that handles the event

We so far refetched the first observer after evaluating bindings, as
binding evaluating might change the list of observers.
However, that approach did not take into account that the 'this' pointer
might no longer be valid after binding evaluation: In case of a
QObjectBindableProperty (or a QObjectCompatProperty), binding evaluation
might cause a reallocation of the binding storage, and consequently the
invalidation of the QPropertyBindingData.
Fix this by refetching the QPropertyBindingData from the storage (if a

However, if the type was incomplete when the slot was defined, and the

However, in that case we might still be able to handle the method, by

This fixes a use-after-free in QPropertyDelayedNotifications::notify.
Before this patch, evaluateBindings or a notify from a property index
might have caused the originalBindingData to become reallocated.
However, at that point, we've already restored the original bindingData
in evaluateBindings, so we won't track updates, and thus won't adjust
originalBindingStatus, which will then point to already freed data.
To remedy this, we no longer do the notification with data fetched from
originalBindingData, but instead use the information we have in the
proxyData.
We also need to enure that referenced bindings do not get deleted; for
that we keep the PendingBindingObserverList alive for the whole duration
of the endPropertyUpdateGroup.
As we now have the PendingBindingObserverList, we use it for the
notification logic, and only notify change handlers in
QPropertyDelayedNotifications::notify. That will allow a follow-up
cleanup of QPropertyObserverPointer::notify, and aligns the logic for
grouped updates with the logic for "nornal", non-grouped updates.

If a type is trivially default constructible, QMetaType (and QVariant)
think that it can be built and value-initialized by zero-filling a
region of storage and then "blessing" that storage as an actual instance
of the type to build. This is done as an optimization.
This doesn't work for all trivially constructible types. For instance,
on the Itanium C++ ABI, pointers to data members are actually
value-initialized (= zero-initialized, = initialized to null) with the
value -1:
https://itanium-cxx-abi.github.io/cxx-abi/abi.html#data-member-pointers
This means that a type like
struct A { int A::*ptr; };
is trivially constructible, but its value initialization is not
equivalent to zero-filling its storage.
Since C++ does not offer a type trait we can use for the detection that
we want to do here, and since we have also decided that Q_PRIMITIVE_TYPE
isn't that trait (it just means trivially copyable / destructible), I'm
rolling out a custom type trait for the purpose.
This type trait is private for the moment being (there's no
Q_DECLARE_TYPEINFO for it), and limited to the subset of scalar types
that we know can be value-initialized by memset(0) into their storage
(basically, all of them, except for pointers to data members).
The fix tries to keep the pre-existing semantics of
`QMetaType::NeedsConstruction`. Before, the flag was set for types which
were not trivially default constructible. That included types that
aren't default constructible, or types that cannot do so trivially.
I've left that meaning unchanged, and simply amended the "trivial" part
with the custom trait. A fix there (to clarify the semantics) can be
done as a separate change.

At a certain point in time, QDoc allowed the user the choice between a
custom C++ parser and a Clang based one.
The Q_QDOC symbol would always be defined while the Q_CLANG_QDOC symbol
would be defined only when the Clang based parser was chosen.
In more recent times, QDoc always uses a Clang based parser, such that
both Q_CLANG_QDOC and Q_QDOC are always defined, making them equivalent.
To avoid using different symbols, and the possible confusion and
fragmentation that derives from it, all usages of Q_CLANG_QDOC are now
replaced by the equivalent usages of Q_QDOC.

Problem description:
--------------------
Assume we have two properties, P1 and P2. Assume further that we assign
a binding to P2, so that it depends on P1. Let the binding additionally
capture some (non-QProperty) boolean, and only create the dependency to
P1 if the boolean is true.
The state afterwards is
P1:[p1vaue|firstObserver]
|
|
v
---[p2binding]
/
P2:[p2value|binding]
If the boolean is set to false, and P1 changes its value, we still
correctly re-evaluate the binding and update P2's value. However, during
binding evaluation we will notice that there is no further dependency
from P2 on P1, and remove its observer.
The state afterwards is
P1:[p1vaue|firstObserver=nullptr]
---[p2binding]
/
P2:[p2value|binding]
Then, during the notify phase, we traverse the observer's again,
starting from P1's firstObserver. Given that it is nullptr now, we never
reach P2's binding, and thus won't send a notification from it.
Fix:
----
We store a list of all visited binding-observers (in a QVarLengthArray,
to avoid allocations as long as possible). After the binding evaluation
phase, we then use that list to send notifications from every binding
that we visited. As we already have a list of all bindings, we no longer
need to recurse on binding-observes during the notification process;
instead, we only need to deal with static callbacks and ChangeHandlers.
The pre-existing notification logic is still kept for the grouped update
case, where we already have a list of all delayed properties, and should
therefore not encounter the same issue. Unifying its codepath with the
existing logic is left as an exercise for a later patch.

QObject's cache the binding status pointer to avoid TLS lookups.
However, when an object is moved to a different thread, we need to
update the cached pointer (as the original thread might stop and thus no
longer exist, and to correctly allow setting up bindings in the object's
thread).
Fix this by also storing the binding status in QThreadPrivate and
updating the object's binding status when moved. This does only work
when the thread is already running, though. If it is not running, we
instead treat the QThreadPrivate's status pointer as a pointer to a
vector of pending objects. Once the QThread has been started, we check
if there are pending objects, and update them at this point.

thread cleared the atomic, but before it processed the previous
WM_QT_SENDPOSTEDEVENTS message. In that case, we end up with a set
atomic and an empty event queue, resulting in the event loop to block
even though there are posted QEvents.
To prevent that, always reset the atomic when we handle the

We didn't delete the new'ed up QMetaTypeInterfaces, causing asan to
complain.
Fix by storing them in strong references alongside their users in a
statically-allocated container.
We use shared_ptr to hold them, because QMetaTypeInterface doesn't
have a virtual destructor, so deleting objects of the TypeInfo types
(plural!) derived from QMetaTypeInterface though a pointer to the base
class is UB. The shared_ptr constructor, however, is templated, so it
stores the correct call (~TypeInfo()) in its type-erased deleter.
We can't use std::make_shared(), because that doesn't support
aggregate initialization until C++20, so we manually new up the
TypeInfos.

The old-syle signal-slot syntax had the advantage of not delivering
signals to slots in derived classes after that derived class's
destructor had finished running (because we called via the virtual
qt_metacall). The new syntax made no checks, so a conversion from the
old to the new syntax may introduce crashes or other data corruptions at
runtime if the destructor had completed.
This commit introduces a Q_ASSERT to print the class name that the
object is not any more. Since this is in inline code, this should get
enabled for users' debug modes and does not therefore depend on Qt being
built in debug mode.
It required some Private classes to be adapted to the new form, by
