Default scroll increment on other platforms (e.g. XCB, Windows) is 120.
With libinput it was 15 * 120 = 1800, which results in non-smooth scolling
experience. This patch also replaces deprecated versions of
QWindowSystemInterface::handleWheelEvent().

I guess this signal pattern was copy-pasted from evdev input integration
code, where we use similar signals in combination with QDeviceDiscovery.
In libinput, device notifications are delivered via libinput APIs, so
these signals are not necessary. In evdev we do some logging from
slots that are connected to these signals. In libinput this is handled
via libinput_log_set_handler. As we can see, we can simply drop this code.

Statics and threads don't mix well. There can be multiple threads
calling QEvdevTabletHandler::readData() simultaneously if you have
several tablet devices registered with the plugin, creating a race on
the static buffer array.
Make the buffer a simple local variable instead, the array is small
enough that we can afford the per-thread stack allocation.

This patch adds a Kalman filter to the evdev touch plugin
which samples velocity and position in x and y direction
and uses this to emit touch points in sync with the application's
repaint rate. The filter also allows for basic prediction
based on current position and velocity estimates.
Filtering is opt-in, and can be enabled by passing for instance
> app -plugin evdevtouch:/dev/touchscreen:filtered:prediction=16
The logic relies on a stable QWindow::requestUpdate() and will work
best in combination with QtQuick and blocking swap buffers (or
equivalent). QScreen::refreshRate() will also have to be reasonably
accurate.
[ChangeLog][Platform Specific Changes] The evdevtouch plugin now
has the option to apply filtering and prediction. Enabled by
passing "filtered" as an argument. Prediction can be specified
by passing "prediction=X" as an argument, where X is in
milliseconds.

Just setting virtualDesktopLayout and virtualIndex are not
always enough. To create more complex shapes (e.g. a T-shaped
cluster) the top-left position has to be specified explicitly.
Enable this via an optional virtualPos property.
This also involves improving evdevtouch's mapping functionality.
Instead of fragile indices, rely on the screen name instead.

Coverity somewhat rightfully complained that the FD may be leaked in
certain cases, e.g. when the new-expression throws. Yes, the plugin
is compiled with exceptions disabled, but the code is still a bug
waiting to happen, because it's too easy to just add an early return
to the function and leak the FD that way.
Fix by writing a small RAII class for FDs (can't use QSharedPointer,
since it's not a pointer we're dealing with). It's quite generically
named, in anticipation that it might come in handy elsewhere, too.

privateFeature would add QT_NO_FEATURE to the DEFINES in the private
.pri file, which was somewhat inelegant.
Additionally, it would add the feature to the _public_ QT_CONFIG
variable, which was plain wrong.
Replace the implementation with the one just introduced for
publicFeature, with the difference that the features are written to the
private files instead.
As this entirely disposes of the old system, all usages in the project
files need to be replaced atomically as well.

Output the version as a define into the private config header as
a define using a hex number. Like that we can easily do version checks

Parse the touchDevice property from the KMS/DRM config file. When all
outputs have an explicitly specified index in the virtual desktop, we
can set up a mapping between the device node and the screen index. It
is somewhat fragile (device nodes may change, requires explicit
virtualIndex properties for all outputs, etc.) but better than
nothing.
For example, having the screen on DisplayPort as primary and the
touchscreen on HDMI as the secondary screen breaks by default because
touching the second screen generates touch (and synthesized mouse)
events for the first screen. Assuming the touchscreen is
/dev/input/event5, the issue can now be fixed by setting
QT_QPA_EGLFS_KMS_CONFIG with a configuration like the following:

26238aca8c causes double deletion of the
QTouchDevice in case the post routine already cleaned up the list by the
time the touch handler gets to do it.
Just check the list of devices to see if the one we hold is still there.
If not, the pointer is likely to be a dangling one so do nothing.
This will avoid dying with bus error or similar on application exit.

Touch does this correctly for some time already. Keyboard and mouse do not, leading

This happens in one particular case: when the touchpoint corresponding
to the last slot is reported as released and a new point is reported
as pressed right after, so that both events happens within a same sync.
In this case, there will be two ABS_MT_TRACKING_ID events received,
first with -1 to report the released touchpoint, then with a new id
to report the pressed touchpoint, then the SYN_REPORT afterwards.
This results in m_contacts[m_currentSlot].state being updated to
Qt::TouchPointReleased then Qt::TouchPointPressed, with the former never
being reported during the handling of SYN_REPORT.
To handle this scenario we need to inspect m_lastContacts for a change
in tracking id for a particular slot combined with a non-null state,
indicating that slot has not yet been reported released and processed
in the previous sync. (the state for processed released points is reset
to zero at the end of the SYN_REPORT handler)

If, after checking a condition, we issue a qFatal()
or a qCritical(), by definition that check is
unlikely to be true.
Tell the compiler so it can move the error handling
code out of the normal code path to increase the
effective icache size.
Moved conditional code around where possible so that
we could always use Q_UNLIKELY, instead of having to
revert to Q_LIKELY here and there.
In some cases, simplified the expressions newly wrapped
in Q_UNLIKELY as a drive-by.

The QGuiApplicationPrivate object is already destroyed by the time
the plugins are cleaned up during the application destruction, causing
a segmentation fault in updateInputDeviceCount().
There's no point in calling updateInputDeviceCount() in the destructor
anyway as the whole process is on its way out that stage, and we
don't support unloading plugins during the application lifetime
otherwise, so the call can just be removed from the destructor.

Migrated the evdevtablet code to use the same Manager/Handler model
used by the other evdev plugins. The input event parsing code remains
the same, it has just been merged into the new handler class, and
hardcoded device ids have been replaced by proper per-device ids
to support multiple tablet devices as detected by udev.
Also added tablet count reporting to QInputDeviceManager.

Long-lived threads started by Qt itself can now receive events even if
QCoreApplication hasn't been created. This is required in all threads we
start that will handle events, unless we're sure that the thread will
exit before the global application object begins destruction.
Otherwise, those threads will have race conditions dealing with the
event delivery system trying to call the QCoreApplication::notify()
virtual while the object is being destroyed.

Follow the exact same structure as evdevmouse and keyboard.
We must do monitoring via device discovery just like we do for keyboards and mice.
Otherwise the usage of touchscreens that connect via USB or can be turned on/off
independently from the board becomes troublesome.

Avoid showing unnecessary "TouchFrame without registered device"
warnings. That should be reserved only for not having a device ready.
The touch point list's emptyiness is a different story - there we
should stop silently as that is not an error.

The internal state of the input handlers need updating too. This was not possible
in the past due to the one way communication from the input handlers (that are
potentially loaded as interface-less generic plugins), but using our new private
QInputDeviceManager in QtGui we can now easily implement "talking back" from QtGui
to the input handlers, regardless of them being plugins or compiled in.
The rest of setPos() is in place already for eglfs.
linuxfb will be handled in follow-up patches.

On embedded the mouse cursor will now appear and reappear regardless of
how the input handling code is loaded (via a generic plugin or compiled-in
to the platform plugin).
Instead of passing around QDeviceDiscovery instances that only works
when compiling-in the code into the platform plugin, introduce a new
internal central QInputDeviceManager. The single instance of this
provides a place to store any future input device related signals and
properties.
Also introduce mouse hotplugging support to linuxfb.
[ChangeLog][QtGui] The mouse cursor on Embedded Linux is now handling
hotplugging correctly with eglfs and linuxfb regardless of how the input
handling code is loaded (via a generic plugin or built in to the platform
plugin).

Supports relative pointer, axis, keyboard and touch events.
libinput support is only available in combination with libudev.
libxkbcommon is required to perform key mapping. For now the
default keymap is used always (selected when building xkbcommon).

tslib support can now be built-in into eglfs, like evdev.
Set QT_QPA_EGLFS_TSLIB to 1 to use tslib instead of evdevtouch.
The input device can be controlled via TSLIB_TSDEVICE.

Use the rule qt.qpa.input (similarly to xcb).
In addition, evdevkeyboard supports qt.qpa.input.keymap to enable keymap
debug messages.
For compatibility, evdevtouch retains the QT_QPA_EVDEV_DEBUG environment variable,
this will simply turn on the associated logging rule.

The code is now cleaned up, properly divided between platformsupport and
the actual plugin (like evdev) and categorized logging is in use.
This will allow us to use tslib as a built-in input handler in eglfs in
the future.

Mouse and wheel events have no modifiers set. This is not ideal.
Pass at least QGuiApplication::keyboardModifiers() to get the
modifiers from the last key event.

Some touch screen drivers present themselves as mice with absolute
coordinates. Setting QT_QPA_EVDEV_MOUSE_PARAMETERS=abs will force
qevdevmousehandler to use absolute coordinates, mapped to the screen
from the hardware maximums. These maximum values are read from the
driver using ioctls.
This feature can be safely used with mice, as the features checks will
fail and qevdevmouse will revert back to using relative coordinates.
This way touch screens and mice can work together.

On Embedded Linux with libudev support hotplugging was already working,
except that the mouse cursor was not shown and hidden. This is now
corrected so that the cursor disappears when all mice become disconnected
and reappears if a mouse gets plugged in later on.
[ChangeLog][QtGui] Mouse hotplugging is now fully supported in eglfs
when running on Embedded Linux systems with libudev support enabled.

The Type B protocol states that touch slots with an ID of -1 should be
considered unused, but data should be retained if that slot becomes
active again later. Instead of removing the contact from the contact list,
only "disable" it. This contact can later be reused if the slot becomes
active again.

If it's detected, we have "mtdev" in QT_CONFIG, not in CONFIG. With
the bad test, libQt5PlatformSupport.prl would not get -lmtdev and, in
turn, the evdevtouch generic plugin would fail to link.

Key events that have no text representation are by the evdevkeyboard
emitted as a QString(0xffff). Other keyboard event handlers appear to
all emit key events with null strings for these events.

The driver for the resistive touchscreen of these boards tends to report
ABS limits 0..4095 even tough it never sends coordinates outside a certain
range (e.g. approximately 165..4016 for X). This breaks the mapping of
hardware coordinates to screen space. Apply a workaround to make it
work properly.

Points in released state should only be removed from m_contacts after

The plugin failed to handle releases with protocol type A with some
drivers. There is no requirement to emit ABS_MT_TOUCH_MAJOR or
BTN_TOUCH to indicate a release. If the point is gone from the report,
it is a release as well.

CapsLock was incorrectly handled in EvdevKeyboard, which led non-letter
keys to be masked with Qt::ShiftModifier. The default builtin keymap
is modified to have IsLetter flags for correct keys.

In some cases the event coordinates reported by evdev are in different
orientation compared to the primary orientation of the platform window.
This commit adds plugin parameter rotate=[90, 180, 270] to rotate the
normalized coordinate system before reporting the touch event.

GCC was complaining:
qevdevtouch.cpp:475:13: error: 'maxId' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
Which got me scratching my head: maxId was unconditionally initialised. How
could GCC be complaining about it being uninitialised? Well, turns out that
bestId could be uninitialised and the code does:
if (bestId > maxId)
maxId = bestId;
Of course, if bestId was uninitialised, the warning should have been in the
"if" line first.

The current code seems to rely on an event, ABS_MT_TOUCH_MAJOR with a
value of 0 to detect a touch release. Not all devices[0] emit this, and
the spec[1] does not specify this behavior.
So, add a check for a BTN_TOUCH with a value of 0 to also indicate
Qt::TouchPointReleased.

Until now the native scancode was not specified which meant
when qwindow-compositor (or any other Qt-based compositor using
the standard Wayland protocol, i.e. sendKeyPress() and such) tried
to send the native scancode over to the clients, all it got was a
code of 0.
This fixes keyboard input when running qwindow-compositor on top
of kms and EvdevKeyboard.

Even though they target embedded devices, the touch and tablet plugins
are very often used on desktop, under X, for development and
experimenting. However the X.org drivers like to grab the input
devices, resulting in getting no events when reading
directly. Inspired by evtest, we show a warning from now on in this
case so the user has a clue what's going on.

Some MT protocol capable touchpads do not provide
ABS_MT_TOUCH_MAJOR. The calculation for touch area was meaningless in
this case and resulted in a very small area not playing nice with apps
like fingerpaint.

evdevmouse only worked properly with real mice, the ABS event handling
was somewhat broken, it wasn't possible to properly move a mouse cursor
with a touchpad due to unwanted jumps. The button handling is also
